Support for the Programs of the Voice of Hope and Liberation Against HIV/AIDS (VH-LAHA)

Status: Stalled

The Voice of Hope and Liberation Against HIV/AIDS (VH-LAHA) was officially registered as a community based organization (CBO) in 2009. Norasco Edward, the local representative of the Kehama village, serves as the Executive Director of the VH-LAHA organization. He is assisted by a volunteer board of 10 members.

After observing the significant toll that HIV/AIDS was taking on his local community and the growing number of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, VH-LAHA was born. The organization has an office, but the majority of their work is done out in the local community.

There are 3 primary programs at this time;

(1) the Home Basic Care Program
(2) the Sports Outreach Program, and
(3) One Net Per Child - aimed at malaria prevention.

Our project here at Nabuur is aimed at improving and supporting program development so that VH-LAHA is able to sustain these programs well into the future.
