Find examples of successful ecotourism camps and organizations supporting ecotourism start-ups

My village wants to start a campsite at the foot of Nguruman hills (Entasopia).
For this task, we are seeking volunteers to help us find examples of successful ecotourism projects and organizations that provide support (financial or otherwise) to promote the development of ecotourism projects such as ours.
Project: Help Establish an Eco-Tourism Camp

Maasai people inhabit Olkiramatian group ranch. The group ranch is divided into three phases; the northwest fringe is potential for agriculture hence has been set aside for farming, The eastern part of the group ranch is the widest with vast space for livestock keeping and lastly the Northeast part is blessed with vast plains, forest parches that are wet and green year round and therefore provide home for different animals and bird species including the Big five except rhinos. Other rare species like the laser kudus are also available among others important and instinct species. More than two hundred beautiful bird species have been reported to be available within the conservation area.

Paul, etc.
For any other readers, I am quoting from Paul's reply to my "Meet the Neighbours" bit as I think this is a better thread to address it:
"...the members of EOL wish to have an exchange visit to other conservacies ,do you or any body have an idea where they can get funding to do this?"
It seems a logical question to start this thread rolling.
The straight answer to the question is No I dont.
How much funding are you talking? What is it to cover? Accommodation, transportation for the EOL members?
Your Plan document talks of management by the KWS. Have you approached them yet? Would only be involved in the conservation plains of the Northeast Parts?
Regards
Dave
I have been googling a bit and found this organisation http://www.ecotourismkenya.org/. In particular, this organisation offers a "Community Outreach programme" which may be useful.
Hi Dave ,
I have visited ecotourism Kenya and picked their registration forms for community groups and will be visiting them next week to pay for registration for membership

We have been in contact with KWS and they realy like the work of EOL .They told us to write the proposal
EOL as per now wants to visit other conservancies on a modest budget, that is transport and accommodation only .We are anticipating that KWS will help us train the conservancy manager and the conservancy rangers
and some start up facility

Hi Tom!
Welcome to Nabuur! It's great to see more people from the USA joining to volunteer.
The resources you posted are fantastic. I really like the compilation of success stories in one place, that certainly makes things easier. I also liked the description of ecotourism-it sets a good foundation for learning more about the basics.
We'd like to invite you to join the village as a volunteer. Please also feel free to introduce yourself to the rest of the volunteer team. We're a small group right now, but hopefully growing soon.
Thanks again for your contributions! Let us know if you have any questions about the project or Nabuur as a whole.
Kind regards-
Jennifer
The CEPF looks maybe promising for the future if Empaash Oloiriento falls into one of their biodiversity hotspots. I have been trying to correlate the CEPF Kenya map red blobs (Eastern Arc Mountains & Coastal Forests of Tanzania & Kenya) match EOC but not quite succeeded yet!!
Here's a possible source of grants: http://sgp.undp.org/index.cfm
They have supported 271 Kenya projects of one sort or another.

Now then, we have a 5 year target! That Ecotourism Award :-)
Seriously though, Basecamp Foundation & the linked Kenya foundation could be useful contact.
By the way, a few weeks ago, you were planning to register with Ecotourism Kenya. Has that happened?
Dave
