INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE - Meet the Project Neighbours

Status: In progress

Entasupa! Greetings to all from the Maasai people in Kenya!

We are so pleased that you have chosen to join our village here at Nabuur and become part of the Kajiado volunteer team. We hope that you will take time to introduce yourself here. Please tell us where you are from and a little bit about your experience.

We look forward to getting to know you and are certain that if we join hands together, our project will be a success. Thank you again for being a part of making our dream a reality!

Hi Paul,
I'm Barry from Ireland. I have previously worked on 2 Nabuur projects on ecotourism. Both of these projects died, without success.
You might like to look at these villages -
Kenya - Mbirikani
Uganda - Omiito.
There is lots and lots of information on ecotourism in those pages, with loads of useful contacts, research, opinions, etc., given by great volunteers on Nabuur. So I would suggest you don't waste your time doing all this work again. Just take the information from these two villages.
Now, I have a few questions and would kindly ask you to respond :
1. Who do you represent in your village or community ?
2. Do you live all the time in your village or community ?
3. Who owns the land you propose to use for your project ?
4. Is there real interest in this project in your village or community ?
Let me tell you a bit about me :
I have been to Kenya and Tanzania and travelled down the road from Nairobi to Arusha that I think your community is based on.
I work in ecotourism and bring people walking to my part of Ireland.
