I would like to thank all our neighbhors and nabuur for supporting us finish website project. I am particularly grateful to Carolyn, Lieuwe and Franstisek for their support in this project. My gratitude goes to Vishanta UNV who committed his skills and time to complete this project. You can now visit us through this link: www.pacodet.org.
Slowly we are moving on to achieving all our project tasks. Thanks again for your support.

Hi There
My name is Vuyo I am professional Web Developer, I want to respond to your question but before I do that, I want you to clarify something to me, what do you need a website for? or what purpose do you want the website to serve? To answer your question you first need a web designer/developer to create the website based on the questions I asked earlier and you need to source a host, I can help you develop the website depending on what you want, the host can be expensive depending on what technology used.
Cheers :)
Hi Vuyo,
I have a background as a webdeveloper too. If you would like, we could work together on this task.
Kind regards,
Lieuwe
Hi Lieuwe and Vuyo,
To us we need this project(website) not only to attract friends and support but also share experiences that may help other communities. I have no idea of how and when we can achieve this and this is the reason i need you for support on every step we will take. I am ready to provide all the information you will need.
One thing i will let you know is that we are deep in very remote area and i use the edge modem to to connect and sometimes the network is very poor that i fail to log in.
Thank you in your interest to help us. I will keep it moving. Clear instructions is only what i need from you to respond to your requirements.

conceive the website in your mind, what information has to be given through it. then get back to me with the specifications of the web site. i am a web designer. i will design it for free for your village. then we will try to get a free webhosting provider for your village. If we get it, then fine. If not, then will try to raise about 100dollars to pay for the hosting and that is all.

Hi Neighbhors,
This is my thinking below but remember you are the technical person in this area so will need your technical guidance.
The objective of setting up of the website is to introduce our project/organisation/village to potential funders and resource persons/institutions who after reading information provided could decide to make a contribution towards making the village achieve its dreams.
Our vision about this website is that it will support us raise resources both inkind and cash for use in the development of the village.
Our objective for this website is to support us raise at least $ 5,000 per month and at least one on-site volunteer per year for five years to enable our village/organisation to break-even for sustainable community development.
At the start, we will need some support to run this website. But once established, some of the resources raised from this website will be used to maintain it.

Hello Stanley,
Good that you have such a measurable idea on what the website should do. I was wondering how you would see the website supporting this effort.
Should the website support your lobbying actions to get subsidies and gifts by larger organisations? For instance: when you talk to someone about your organisation, should your website provide background information? Or should the website focus on getting donations from visitors of your website? How would you see this website work for you in order to reach this goal?
Kind regards,
Lieuwe
Hi Lieuwe,
I have the idea that the website should provide adequate background information including summary of issues we need support in and visitors interested could contact us for details in any area of their interest.

Hi Stanley,
Who would be the visitors of the website? What is their relation to your organisation? Which countries/continents would they come from?
Kind regards,
Lieuwe
Hi Liewe,
We are interested to attract funders and northern NGOs to form parternships with us to execute community development programs that we have identified and will identify with them.
Just as i met you and made friendship with, i am hopeful through this facility to make friends both individuals and institutions. I m also optimistic that there are donor organisations in Europe and USA looking for NGOs/CBOs in developing countries to partern with to improve the lives of the communities they serve. This is the opportunity we want present to them to work with us.
What ideas or options did you have in mind?

Hi Stanley,
I am still listening and thinking about what you said. Keep talking, and give me a few days and I will come up with a first design.
Just for my understanding: What kind of donor organisations would I be thinking of? What would these donor organisations do; what would their aim be? Or different? And which type of NGO's would these be (what would they do? Would they do things which are simular to your organisation, which they do in different parts of your country or the world? Or would that be "NGO's which do different tasks then your organisation in the same area you work in (the Pallisa district)"?
From a presentational point of view: I think you would like the website to be in the same design as your business cards and corresponding paper you allready have. So if visitors see your website, they would recognize by the style that this website deals with your organisation before they start reading the information on the website. Do you have a house style (like a logo, and colors and fonttype (like "Times New Roman" or "Arial") you use when corresponding with others on behalf of your organisation? Do you have a business card and/or leaflets in which you express what the organisation does? If so, what do they look like? Do you have them digitally? If you have them, but not digital, I can make them digital if you'd send them to me. If you do not have them (a house style), I think we'd have to make a house style first/together with the website. A house style is something which I can also provide you with.
Your organisation does a lot of things. Could you list the themes for me? And whilst you do that, could you prioritize them/give them a grade on a scale from 1 to 10 (with 1 beeing the most important theme for your organisation and 10 beeing the least important theme for your organisation).
Kind regards,
Lieuwe
These donor organisations could operate anywhere but their link with us is common interest/focus on programmes we are involved in which they fund. We decide on programs and they may support all or just some of the activities they choose in any given program/project. They can advise and participate in evaluation of our programmes.
About our organisation's activities, we are involved in health, food security/environment and now human/civil rights. In health, we are involved in all health care activities including the training of nurses. IN food security/environment, we are involved in training and eduction for sustainable use of natural resources; and human/civil rights this is education/training of community to demand and enjoy their rights. These three programmes are three priority areas in the community. In health, we have the training of nurses as priority one, in food security/environment we are concerned with sustaining use of wetlands and increasing agricultural seed biodiversity. In human/civil rights our priority is education of masses about their rights and liberties/

Hi Stanley,
If you would categorize the subject "health", "food security" and "civil rights", which would be the most important?
For instance:
1. Health care (Most resources and focus of the organisation is spent on this)
2. Food security (Less resources and focus is spent on it than Health Care, but more than civil rights)
3. Civil rights (Off all the resources and focus, the least ammount of resources and focus is spent on this subject)
This is an example, but would this be a correct view on things? If so, please let me know. If not, please let me know how the focus of your organisation is devided over these subject.
Kind regards
Lieuwe
Gentleman- seems like you are on the right track :)
I quite like this website http://www.nicrad.org/ Walude who is also a neighbour from Ugana works for NICRAD. Whilst this may not be exactly what you are looking for Stanley- I think something like this provides the visitor some very clear information about the organisation.
Regards
Carolyn
Thanks Carolyn for this exposure. I have learnt something to inform this process.
