Our Project formally began in 2003 when the Vision of uplifting the OVCs and the vulnerable souls was registered as Maria Mother of Charity Relief Home.
We supported the children into different schools and at different levels from Kindergarten education to colleges, and University. Our first child to sponsor was Clapton Mulenga who was sent to Kasama College of Education and graduated as a Basic School Teacher. It was so nice to see him come and do his Teaching Practice at our charity school in 2005 when it was opened. He is now in the Teaching Fraternity, and able to support his family.
In 2004, we embarked on a school project which until now is 75% complete and running.We named our school as Framar School of Excellence. We had no source of income and so our immediate Income Generating Activity was to enroll fee-paying students who would help us sustain the school in teachers' salaries and other administrative costs.
The above idea has greatly helped the school to standout though we have had lapses in paying our teachers.
Our teachers are always behind in their salaries because our Income Generater is very limited.
We want to expand the Income Generating Activities so that we are able to sustain our Teachers' salaries and be able to adequately meet other Administrative costs.We would also like to complete our twenty one(21) class-rooms which are not yet fully complete among others which are fully done.
Our Objectives are:
1.Electrify the School so that we have modern equipment(e.g. computers, science laboratories, music systems, metalwork workshops, woodwork workshops, sports equipment etc..) which would attract fee-paying students which thing would increase our source of income.
2.Introduce a Modern Boarding Facility which would attract the fee-paying student to be enrolled at our school as there is no Modern Boarding Facility in the whole Province.The Boarding facility shall also accommodate a lot of OVCs and the vulnerable children who can not access our free education because of the the remote places they live in. Also introduce facilities like Canteens, Internet Cafes, Recreation Facilities etc..
3. Introduce a Skills Training Center for (especially mothers) adults most of which have children at the school so that they are trained in Catering,Baking, knitting,sewing and Adult Literacy. This will make them to be self-sustaining and they shall be making uniforms, jerseys and other things to sell to our fee-paying students and to other schools where we shall win Tenders.
4. Buy a school Bus to have our OVCs stop walking long Distances in order to access our free education. And also build a wall-fence so that there is security at the school.
We are a Christian Charity aiming at Developing Spiritually edified children as they also attain their Academic Excellence. Our Motto is "Child Investment, Real Investment; Your Child, Our Pride".
Our Operational Theme is "With God, We Can. Psalm 108"

You are very right when you say patience pays. It does pay and we believe that we labour not in vain. God who knows our Vision shall surely sustain it.
You know Daniel it is God who moved me into doing all this, and no matter how long it takes, I know He is present in all these works. Continue standing with me in prayer.

Dear all,
Acknowledging the school still lacks of many resources such as teachers, electricity..etc, and there is merely any public involvement globally in supporting the school, I would like to discuss with you the ways which we could engage broader public awareness of the school and to seek long term sponsership to support its needs.
Should we set up a pre-project aiming to communicate the Framar School of Excellence to the public. This can be carried out by identifying the stakeholder/potential partners whom we could approach, such as universities/education institutes(to recruit volunteer teachers), media etc, then once the words are out and public engagement is enacted, we would have more people/resources to mobilise to support the main project objectives, namely:
1.Electriciy the school
2.Build a modern Boarding Facility
3.Establish a Skills Training Centre
4.Purchase school Bus
Let me know your ideas and I can set up a project.

This is with reference to the following in your task above - "We want to expand the Income Generating Activities so that we are able to sustain our Teachers' salaries and be able to adequately meet other Administrative costs."
A viable option to increase income without investing in additional infrastructure, is to use the existing classrooms to conduct classes in more than one shift. If this is possible, you can enroll more students and hence earn more fees. Out of these additional earnings, you can pay the teachers' salaries and other administrative expenses, including the salaries of additional teachers you may need to hire to cope with additional shifts.

- How big is the building ?
- How big are the classrooms?
- What kind of classrooms are there?
- How many people will be needed will participate in this programm?
- Do you also want us to provide accomodaton for these people?
- What is the infrastructure like?
- What kind of electronic devices are there already available?

-The Building has 24 complete classrooms and 16 incomplete classrooms.
- The classes are 4*6 and 5*6 respectively
-They are spacious classrooms which can accommodate 30 pupils.
-500 people may be needed to participate in this programme
- Yes. I would love you to provide accommodation to the people because we want it to have a boarding facility
-The infrastructure is big and spacious and made out of pan-bricks(burnt bricks). There is Check it on the my background and gallery page of my profile
-We do not have any electronic device available because we do not have electricity yet.

We have got some question considering the skills training center:
- can you give us an overview of what the building looks like (where everything is located-> toilet/classrooms/diningroom/kitchen/garden)?
- how many (class)rooms are ready to be used and which ones should be renewd??
- what is already in the rooms (think about furniture) and should they be renewd or can we use the stuff which is already there?
- for how many people (approximatelly) is this skills training center and how many people do you want in one class?
- what equipements do you have for the different trainings and workshops/what do you still need?

Thank you very much for your mail.
-The overview of the building is that there are ablution blocks at the end of each 1*4 classroom block. -The ablution includes 4 toilets and a shower room. There are currently 4 blocks currently n use.
-There is also an assembly hall which also acts as a dinning room for now which can accommodate 150 children at a go. The kitchen block is 50% complete.
-We have a good number of wooden tables and chairs to use but we would not mind to add some more.
-We need to renew some classes and some furniture.
-We have other 3 blocks which can be used but there is no furniture yet.
-We also have no electricity connected yet though most of our blocks are wired.
The skills Training Center may accommodate 300 people for now, and we wish to 25 people per class.
-Currently we do not have any equipment other than our hands. Mostly we have relied on gardening using hoes and knitting using knitting needles.
-We may wish to have every necessary tool and equipment to suit our vision ranging from:
1. Knitting machines
2. sewing machines
3. Garden Tools
4. computers
5. Printers, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, Video/Digital Cameras, Typewriters
6. Woodwork Tool Kits
7. Agriculture Tools
8. Pre-school Training Material
And anything that would help to realize our vision to full potentiality.

How long would you prefer to last a lesson? So how many minutes/hours does a lesson take?
How many hours do the people want to spend on the school? How much time do they have to go to school?
Do you already give lessons over there?
What does an average schoolday look like?
Which age do the people who want to go to school there have?
Where do they come from?
How many people you think want to make use of the boarding facility?
What can they pay on an average per month to make use of the boarding facility?
Is there an area for sleeping already and if yes, what does it look like?
Where is that area for sleeping and if it is not, where do they prefer to do that?
You also said that you need to renew some blocks and some furniture, but what does it look like? What needs to be renewed? What do you need to have it renewed?
The kitchen block is complete for 50%, what does it look like and what is still needed?
How many blocks are wired?
How many more tables and chairs would you prefer? How many do you have now?
