Friends of Kenya Accepted Our Proposal!

Additional Hospital Beds for Arrow Web Hospital

Bramuel and I received the following news from Friends of Kenya today:

"On behalf of Friends of Kenya, I am pleased to inform you that we have approved your proposal, "Additional Beds and Beddings for Arrow Web Hospital" for funding. We would like to award Arrow Web Hospital $1000 to cover the cost of the beds, mattresses, blankets, and sheets. Any additional funds after the purchase of these items may be applied to the area of most need in your hospital..."

I am absolutely thrilled!!

Hi Bramuel

That's great news. Hope all goes well! When you get accreditation, I assume that mean you will be getting money from the insurance scheme when you treat patients?

Hi Mary
Yes we will be getting some money from NHIF but only for those who are registered with the scheme and have NHIF card you know the NHIF is only paying hospital bed per day to the cost of the patient and not all medications. But they will be paying for all cost of maternity mothers which will be very great to the hospital.
Best wishes

Hi Bramuel

That sounds good - even though they won't pay for everything, it will mean that you have money coming into the hospital.

I assume that before you are registered, they will also inspect the hospital? So this will prove to other potential supporters that you provide a good standard of care. Will being registered with NHIF open up any other possibilities for additional funding from the government or other organisations in Kenya?
