Overwhelming response from the community wanting to be a part of the workshops

Word about our up-and-coming two workshops has gotten around. We have planned for each workshop to hold 20-22 participants. And yet, more than 62 persons from the community have registered their interest.

In our refresher workshop, our Village Phone Salon groups and a visiting women’s co-op from our Nabuur neighbour, Esther, in Kitale will also attend. So, theoretically, 15 of the available 44 places are already taken and 62 wanting the remaining positions. This is amazing, but also disconcerting, since we really cannot train all of them during these two days.

We know there are a few aspects that we should please keep into mind in choosing who should attend: a) in order for Millicent and Ericah to be effective instructors the number of participants per workshop has to be restricted to 20-21 persons, b) equally, in order for the participants to be given the opportunity to learn well and have the opportunity to pose questions and participate in discussion, the number of participants per workshop has to be restricted, c) the choice of participants will not be made solely on who is most deserving or adamant, but principally through the criteria of promised involvement and commitment to creating collaborative small-scale garden work co-ops. We need to find people who are committed to using new farming methods and practicing new business practices as a team.
