Educational Social Networking

Set up our educational social network, Our Song Circle - Wimbo Mviringo, to present school projects with schools inside of Kenya and in other countries as well.
We are presently working on setting up collaborative school projects with schools in Germany, Canada, and USA. We will next look at finding partner schools locally, in Nairobi, and nationally. To do this we are making efforts to contact other projects in Nabuur, as well as the other online communities.
The projects will be an exchange involving topics of syllabus education, HIV/Aids programs, and health and nutrition. The goal is for these projects to improve our school syllabus, help the children to experience globalisation in a constructive and creative form, and help support our teachers to be able to teach better.
Materials and work efforts needed:
- Communication with other projects in Nabuur and online communities.
- Help from any other Nabuur member to establish contact with schools in other countries or in Kenya.
- Concrete suggestions about what sort of topics we can explore, how to do this, and links to online information or worksheets we could use in our schools.
- We have been sent a digital camera and a mp3 player that can record audio.

Approximate age range of the school children ?
Hi,
I have composed this letter to contact schools and have sent it to a few in Kenya. I just wanted to send you the letter before I send it to anymore, just to make sure you are ok with it and so that you know I'm doing it.
I tried to keep the letter very simple and gave them my direct email as an alternative contact for them if they are interested. I will inform you immediately if a school expresses interests in doing so.
The reason I put my email address on there is because of the number of schools I am planning on contacting. I don't want you to have to deal with a hefty amount of email responses. I have contacted four schools by email so far, but like I said I am awaiting your approval now to continue contacting others.
Please feel free to make any adjustments or revise it in any way. Some of it is copied from your homepage; this is my letter:

Dear (Schools Name/Principals Name),
My name is Rachel Harbut and I am a volunteer on Nabuur. This is an online volunteering platform that links Neighbours (online volunteers) with Villages (local communities) in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I currently am working on a project for the Benando Breakthrough Support Mission, which is located in Kimilli, Kenya. BBSM supports children in needy situations, youths, widows, disabled, and many others.
I am currently am linking schools with one another for educational purposes; such as sharing resources and other ideas. HIV/Aids programs, health and nutrition would be most helpful at this time. Would this be something you are interested in doing with your school?
I would be delighted to discuss the possibility of collaborating with your school. Please contact contact me directly back at RachelNcle@gmail.com or visit our website at http://benando.weebly.com/
Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.
Take Care
Rachel Harbut

Rachel,
The email is just fine. The only suggestion I could give is whether you want to mention the Our Song Circle - Wimbo Mviringo site. I'm also think it is important to mention the community blog on the BBSM. I find this gives more of a indication about the work Rev. Wasike is doing.
I'll write you an email soon about further work you can do on the OSC site. Thank you so much for sending the email off to these schools.
bye, lia
