Proposal writers WANTED: help with a grant proposal for the School Garden Project
Status:

Time needed:
Half a day
Step:

Rev Wasike informed me yesterday that due to food shortages in Kenya, the daily rations for the kids in school are cut down to a cup of porridge at lunch time. That gives a new sense of urgency to our School Garden project, which aims to provide a sustainable food supply to the pupils in school. We have a fundraising group on the ground in Nairobi and we need your help to put together a grant proposal in order to obtain the seed money for the project.

To those of you interested in helping us write a proposal. We do know where we want to buy land. We do have a women's initiate and a youth vision group willing to do the hard work. We also have a group of OVC (orphans and vulnerable children) wanting to learn about gardening and small-scale farming as a vocation. We know we'd like to set up a communal kitchen with smoke free fuel. We even know various organisations who might be willing to fund our project. What we do not have, and what perhaps you have, is the patience and the tenacity to sit down and put it all on paper. Admittedly, not an easy task, but oh so needed.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Lia

I have some experience writing and reviewing grant proposals. I could probably be of assistance. Perhaps you could email me the neccessary information, and give me a bit of a background on the potential funders (so the proposal can point out how the project meets the priorities of the funders)
Hi Summer,
Welcome to Kimilili! Thank you for offering to help! PLease share your email address with Lia at cbsmkenya (at) googlemail (dot) com or me at tanja (at) volunteer (dot) nabuur (dot) org , so we can forward the necessary information.
How would you prefer to work: write us a list of questions and we try to answer them as best as possible, send you the links to the appropriate info, or should we just send you everything we think you might need?

I have just joined NABUUR and I am excited with the connections going among the grobe community in general and Kenya in particular. I believe Benedict and Rev Wasike have started working on the project and we believe this will be better for the children who urgently need to access food. it is their right to access food and education.
Wishing you all the best
