re:we kiserian village make the request of learning materials for our school because we have already opened on Monday and we don't have learning materials for our children s,also we want to let a big space so that we can have more classes because we have also primary school children s who go to other school and we pay school fees for them ,if we get that space we can take all the children s and put them together but different classes ,it can be easy because nobody can ask for fees our job will be to pay the teachers and the rent ,what we require first is a good and a big space to build the school or to let

Sorry for not responding earlier, I was away from home. From what you describe about your village it seems that you have mainly material needs for your schools. It is a private school, right?
I think although donations could help in the beginning, in order to be sustainable you should think about generating income. There are a lot of villages on Nabuur having started to do gardening and chicken and goat rearing to generate income to pay for there needs. What are people doing in Kiserian, what kind of agriculture? Is there a possibility to have a school garden or so?
Concerning donations, lots of different possibilities exist. You could try to establish a child sponsoring scheme, or try to find a sister school. For this more information about the school ( as for example a website) would be needed for people to find out about you. Maybe have a look on other villages on Nabuur, as for example the Kisozi village that have very similar problems to yours, and have a look what they are doing. This would allow you to think about your own way to resolve the problems.
For the most urgent needs, there is a Canadian program http://www.scaw.org/about/index.html that sends Bedkits to needy children containing most of the material you are looking for. Maybe you could contact them and ask for advice and help. I read that they also have programs in Kenya.
So I think you should think and prioritize short and long term solutions to become sustainable. I am willing to help you with any information but since I am still a student I can´t make any donation myself at the moment.

am happy about your reply and your advise ,but we leave in stone garden. i mean we are tenant ,even the school is for rent, we have two rooms for which we are using ,playing ground for this children s is also a story ,we are looking for a big space so that we can build the school we need fund rising to enable us to acquire the space and build the school,your idea is good if we can have our own ground

Nice to hear from you again. I completely understand that fundraising is one of the main issues of the project. However in times of financial crisis this has become even harder than it was before. So this is a rather long-term process that needs to be researched and planned very carefully. In order to adress any sponsor you would need a document stating what exactely your project is, what your objectives are and how do you want to achieve them. Only then they can examine if they judge your project worthwhile of some funding.
One way to do this is to write a five year plan. In this plan you could then write, what your objectives are for the next five years - acquiring land for the school, acquiring material for the school, having more children enrolled etc. You should then think about, which issues have most priority. Which are the most vulnerable children and so on. The next step would be to think about how to achieve these objectives; what kind of activities do you want to see. These should be as realistic and concrete as possible. It would also be good to have a SWOT analysis - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the project components. This would help you to assess where to start with.

Sorry for not responding earlier - I was quite busy. I am happy that you are motivated to work out a five year strategic plan for Kiserian.

Do you can open it? It presents different steps how to write such a plan. I think the points 1-5 would be important for Kiserian to be answered in a first step.
You should decribe your vision for the project, talk with your community what their dreams are, and then write down the mission of your project and the concrete objectives.
The next step is to think about, what strategy do you have to realise these dreams and objectives. All of this is explained in the link I attached.
Once this has been done, we could talk about the opportunities and weaknesses of your plan.
Please ask if you have any questions. I think since you have several projects and objectives, such a plan would be very useful.

Could you just tell me what the problem is with registering the school? I had a look on their website and it seems quite easy. You create an account and then you can register your school details, write a little note why you want a sister school and how your pupils would profit from it (writing letters, have contact with a school in the UK, exchange ideas). They then look for a school in the UK to become your sister school. I think this would be a good first step to make your school known and to get the support from a sister school.

Basically a five year plan is a document of around 10 pages explaining everything about your project. See my posts below. Have a look on the website above what they propose.
If I understand well your information, the basic objective you have is to build a school. You have a budget of 1,234,000 KSH or 15,000US$, this is a huge budget that nobody on Nabuur would be able to rise. I just want to be as realistic as possible, if you only need funds to build the school, Nabuur is not the right place for this. People can help you with plans, advice, small funding for the children etc but not with 15,000US$.
What´s with the school material, the street children project etc?
It should be an achievable goal!!
Did you consult your community about their wishes and dreams? I think it would be a good first step to think together with all people involved what you want for your school and how you can achieve it. I have been following your discussions with Daniel but it seems you miss each other when capturing the information in your mails. It seems like Nabuur needs to simplify its information on its vision so that people would be able to pick it from the beginning that they are not funders but facilitators in linking our projects to the world.
You have had a big problem in making Daniel understand you. I however understand that you want Daniel to understand that you do not fund projects BUT only help with technical information, right?
The advice you gave Daniel about networks like the Global Gateway is helpful and easy to follow. Iam a registered member with them. Daniels is looking for a faster way which may help his project which is quite impossible from you guys. State your case clearly for him to appreciate.

am ok and all my community members are well,the problem we are having is understand each other because if you tell me to write the five year plan ,i write a request to any body who know to write it to help us , i dint see any reply on nabuur i know well we help each other with information amd ideas ,but if you are told to write about the problem you are facind or your need ,others will write even about food,on my side am a learner in anbuur and am still moving well is better to be a slow learner than to be going backward.
