INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE - Meet the Neighbours

Status: Just started

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our online volunteers here at Nabuur. We hope that you will take a moment to introduce yourself and get to know the rest of the members of our volunteer team. It is helpful to us to learn more about you and your experience so that we can best determine how to utilize your skills and expertise. We look forward to getting to know each of you and again, welcome! We are very grateful you are here with us in support of the Kiserian community.

We've had a lot of new faces join our group this month! Our volunteer team is growing! That's great to see. I also wanted to take a moment to welcome two more volunteers - Jeremy Ecle, Josephat Bwire and Faith Wambura Ngari. Links to their profiles are below:

Jeremy, Josephat and Faith, it would be great if you could tell the rest of the group a bit more about yourselves. I'm happy you've chosen to join the Kiserian village and look forward to working with you all.

All the best-

Hi Jennifer, thanks for your reply!
The training I wrote was for a specific online trade platform. Unfortunately the platform doesn't exist anymore and the training cannot be applied without this platform.
I do not have much knowledge about agriculture. I got trained as a process facilitator/adult trainer and I am specialising myself in the possibilities of the Digital World. I do have literature and some knowledge and skills that might be helpful here.
I've been the manager of a group of students past 7 weeks. The students explored various digital methods (augmented reality, online marketing campaign/research, multimedia and more) to stimulate various target groups in Rotterdam to contribute to the future development of their neighborhood. To facilitate this we built an online work platform. My ambition is to support on (or more) of the projects on nabuur.com to build an interactive online collaboration platform. And of course I am eager to facilitate this.
I am reading through all active projects now. If anyone has a suggestion for a project that could use such a platform, I would like to hear this.

Jasper - you might have some interest in participating in the redesign of the Nabuur website. It certainly sounds like you have expertise to offer in that realm. If so, we can get you connected with the people working toward that regard. Let me know :)

Best regards-

Jennifer

Hallo Neighbours.
My name is Faith Wambura from Kenya. I have a background in ECD (Montessori) and Special Needs Education. I have worked in a few schools in rural Kenya and I can relate to challenges faced by poor communities in acquisition of resources to run their schools. Working in such communities awoke an interest to study Social Work in order to extend my help to people in need, especially young children beyond classroom teaching.
Currently am in South Africa studying Social Work and Database Administration as I volunteer with Caritas Intl & Damietta Peace Initiative in their children and youth programmes.
Some of my skills in Service and Education are; Teaching (3-18yrs depending on needs), Facilitation of group activities, Teaching and learning resources development, Advocacy & Fundraising.
"It begins with me."

"How many pairs of shoes do u have, how many do you wear in a week, how many havent you worn in the last six months?"...that question got some of my friends 'thinking'.
My aim is to have those in my circles of friends to donate a pair of shoe, in cash though.
I am optimistic this will bear fruits.
will kp u posted.
