Template letter to contact charity organisations

Write a letter of intent about what the Sajos Academy Kiserian is and does and what they need.
This should make it easier to contact different organisations and not to have to write the same description at each time. The letter could be posted as shared document and neighbours could use it at each moment they are contacting an organisation and just have to adapt it slightly.

Project: Sajos Academy Kiserian
When contacting companies, charity organizations, etc (Nike, Wal-Mart, Target, soles 4 souls) they all required verification of Sajos being a non-profit, a " IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, or an accredited K-12 school, college, university or governmental institution". I didn't know if you all had that documentation. These companies do give donations with this paper work, but not if you don't have it. It has been easier for me to go through community out- reach programs here in my immediate area. I know this is a lot to consider when writing your template, I just thought you should be aware.

"IRS-qualified 501(c)(3)" applies only to the USA. For the purposes of Sajos Academy Kiserian, my understanding is that they have formally registered with the Kenyan government as a non-profit community based organization. If you are looking specifically for organizations based here in the USA, what you would want to see is that they are willing to help internationally based organizations. In my experience, smaller organizations tend to be more receptive than the larger corporations.
Daniel - if you have not already done so, it may be a good idea to post a scan of your registration certificate if you are able to so that it shows the registration as current.

To help volunteers complete this task, they need more information from you. Here are some questions to help guide you - if you can provide the answers to these it will be easier to complete a draft document that can then be tweaked as needed based on specific organizational requirements:
1. What year did Sajos Academy Kiserian open?
2. Yes We Can Self-Help Group - I understand that this is a registered community-based organization through the Kenyan Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development - is that correct?
3. Who runs your organization? Please list all names involved and their position/role with the organization.
4. Does the group run other programs, or just Sajos Academy Kiserian at this time?
5. Do you have organizational values outlined - if so, what are they?
6. What is the mission and vision of your organization?
7. Does your organization have an operating budget? How does the organization fund it's activities at this time?
