SLINT-Uganda - Improving Livelihoods and Protecting the Environment

Status: Stalled

Sustainable Livelihoods International Uganda (SLINT-Uganda) is a registered non-governmental organization dedicated to the eradication of poverty and hunger and protection of the environment in Uganda.

SLINT believes that through the adoption of appropriate technologies, sound policies and positive attitudes, it is possible for people to overcome absolute poverty and hunger without degrading or destroying the supporting natural resources and environment. Socio-economic well-being and poverty alleviation should be pursued while at the same time safeguarding the long-term sustainability of the environment. It should not be a case of either development or the environment.

Our current projects include:

* Solar home lighting
* Fruit tree growing and community forestry
* Organic beekeeping
* Fruit and vegetable growing

You can read more about our work on the SLINT-Uganda website.
