Kilele Junior School hosts its first international volunteers
Dear all,
We have been a bit silent on Nabuur, but work in Komarok is steadily going on to improve the conditions of education of its pupils.
In August, the school hosted for the firts time two international volunteers. Charlotte Johnstone, a psychology student in Birmingham and Andrew Martin, a succesful bussiness man and also an MBA student in England, helped the school with teaching the children, cleaning up the school yard and other maintenance work. They got an unique insight into the life in Nairobi and Kenya. They got in contact with the school through "Workaway".
Have a look on the school's website for pictures http://kilelejuniorschool.yolasite.com/
Besides these volunteers on the ground, three other UNV volunteers work online with us and are busy applying for grants to build a better school and to get school material. Most of this discussion takes place via email, but if you are interested in joining these activities, please contact either Maria or John via a private message.
