Dear Jessica, dear Neighbours,

After some weeks of absence I am glad to join our discussions once more.

Dear Ben,

welcome to our Forum and thanks a lot for your motivation to support us with our Internet project.

Besides launching the site in a couple of weeks, there are several documents and photos, which Jessica has and which still need to be uploaded.

As I am not very aware at the moment of your availability, please kindly let us know to what extent you can support us with this.

We are looking forward to your following post.

Regards,
Eleftheria

Hi,

Just tell me what you need to fix. Just like you did in your last message. We'll find a way to fix any problem.

1. Can you use this tool to upload the documents . Use fileshare

2. Can you use this tool to upload pictures? Photoshare

Keep smiling

I just re-visited the Kyarumba website, and was extremely impressed by the amount of information and level of detail that was included.

I was tempted to make a donation on the spot, but couldn't find the "Make a Donation" or "How to Make a Donation" button or information... :-)

So... congratulations to the designer and website editor ! It's looking great! Is that you, Ben?

Dear Manuel,

it is so encouraging to read your positive feedback on the site! Thank you!

Actually the efforts of bulding this site date back over a year now:

For your information, in the beginning a dedicated Neighbour of Kyarumba Dennis Argall from Australia (hopefully he will join us again) had the idea of putting up a website for the Village and also designed it.

Then in the begining of this year we decided to update and improve it both in design and in content. Clare Kerr from England, another valuable Kyarumba Neighbour, came up with this design through the discussions and suggestions of the Neighbours.

At the same time a past action was dedicated to updating and improving the content, which was also done due to the Neighbours´participation.

Unfortunately in the last couple of months Clare has been very busy and the site could not be finalised.

And this is where thankfully Ben comes in, who has offered to finalise the site. Ben now waits information on what needs to be uploaded etc. so he can proceed.

I hope this helps clarify how we got to this stage Manuel.

Should you have any suggestions for improvements, please don´t hesitate to let us know. Your input will be mostly appeciated!

Take care,
Eleftheria

Kamenge is in contact with Auckland University. Their project includes suport from graphical designers as well. On a more general note, I am working a format that eliminates this website issue alltogether, and that will give every village a fully functional indepent website within 24 hours of registering their project.. All I am looking for is sponsorship for the domeain name for the first year. Hopefully Nabuur can facilitate that, after all we're realy talking peanuts.

Pending official nabuur acceptance (ie. opening up the project under nabuur's wings) infrastructure will be minimal. but once accepted everything needed will be available. The only thing that's than needs special attention is the graphical design , for which we'll set up a nabuur Design competiton.

Most important enhancement is that you take care of the content yourself, so if Clare, or whoever is designing your on-line identity is busy, your project doesn't stop. Design is better, but ....

villageTalk has no design but still looks acceptable I think. To give you an idea, check Zen Garden The starting point of that is similar to the non design of VillageTalk. All the designer does is add an extra shell over the basic content. So you can change whatever you like content wise, without having to involve the designer.

There are realy more important problems to solve than worrie about getting info on-line. More news on Friday morning. (anyway. the Nov 15 deadline will be met ;-)

Dear Enosh,

Jessica will be answering to you as well but just to let you know, she got indeed in touch with Ben (you can see him participating to our discussions) and Ben is ready to help us finalise the content. This will be done quite soon.

Dear Ben,

I will be looking at your latest post in detail in the evening, as I have to be out all day today.

Thank you both for your interest and have great day!
