How nice of you for joining us. You are right, there are plenty of experienced neighbors in the village, but we will certainly appreciate your gentle and bright touch. So please, do not hesitate to add your contribution…. Although it is taking us a certain time right now to establish sound bases of work, I have no doubt that, as you said, the project will be successful.
Thank you very much for the very warm welcome. It keeps me at home regarding the environment you have around here in accepting me as a new neighbor.
For everybody's info, Adriana is a friend. We met during the NABUUR facilitator training. While I am still waiting for an assignment, I decided help an old pal in her quest for the good of the needy people.
I was just going back to update myself on the recent posts by all the neighbors. Looks like I am not able to view many of the posts. I remember Adriana sending me the NetAid proposal a couple of days ago and was looking for Jessica's valuable update after her meeting with the local reps. Am I missing something on how the archives work?
There are still teething problems with the new web site and I have sent a link to your comments to the NABUUR.COM office - info@nabuur.com - so they can see issues that confront people. I think that feedback is much appreciated on these things. You may wish to advise them of other hiccups you come across.
Meanwhile, can anyone point the way to the documents??? !! :-)
best wishes
Dennis
p.s. I have them on file here if anyone needs copy now, of:
- original BWC report on which this village was set up on June
- the NetAid submission and
- Jessica's report on the trial survey.

I'm still getting used to the new format as well. In some ways it is more user-friendly than the old version, but not completely...
Wasn't there a document that Jessica recently posted with info about Kyarumba/Bakonzo culture? I can't seem to find it... probably for the same reason you both can't find documents and other posts!
Dennis, do you know if plans are underway to create a documents 'section' as we had before? (rather than posting documents in the discussions section) Or does this already exist, but I have yet to find it??
you are right. Nikita, I also noticed the other day that the link I gave you was no longer working. I had downloaded the NetAid proposal, but it is on my PC in NY. I will not be able to access it before next Friday. So, I suggest you contact Dennis as he offered it.
There are a few problems indeed with the website. And it is important that we report them, as it helps improving the site for everyone. Nabuur webmaster does address all reported issues. I used to receive 6 notifications for each posting, I am sure I was not the only one, but you can notice now that it has been corrected.
If you want, email me the problems (at adriagbo@aol.com), and I will forward them to the webmaster and follow up on each issue.
As we are making a fresh start, here are the key documents.
Here is where it all started - the foundation document from the BWC, dated November 2004, which I have converted to .pdf format for ease of access - I hope. You may need to get Adobe Acrobat Reader - free download at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Greetings from Nairobi, we are having a fruitful training together with my other Local Representatives, the Nabuur staff are here with us and all is going on well.
About the documents I am resending you one, the summary of the recent consultation with the local people and the BWC.
The rest of the documents are under the resources.
... To find 'Resources' go to the issue discussion threads, there are documents at the bottom of the first two of them ... you have to look right at the BOTTOM of the page.
I think it's a big leap forward when you go to these kind of trainings and it makes the purpose of your village easily recognized. Consultation with the local people will help neighbors find solutions directly to the problems presented and gives them better understanding of the whole situation.
Welcome Junjun!
It's wonderful to have you aboard. You have lots of Nabuur experience, which will be invaluable as we create and establish Nyabibuya!
All the best,
Marianne

p.s. Nice new picture, Jessica! :-)
Dear Marianna and Clare,
How are you doing? It has been a long time (or it seems a long time to me) that we have not heard from you.
I hope you are doing fine, and that you are not too disappointed that we have postponed the book and stories reading to a later phase of the project.
Please, I would love to know what you think of our revised actions.
Cheers,
Adriana
Hi Jessica!
(... If you are reading the site, and have time to respond during your LR TRAINING ... )
I am planning a trip Kamenge, Burundi, whose Capital city , as you know is Bujumbura. I plan to be there in the last week of November this year.
I am thinking of flying in via Ntebe.
How close is that, practically, to Kampala, say? Maybe we can meet. ( I can spare a couple of days.)
I would love to meet and talk with you, and the women; and, I would like to bring a suitcase of of books for the girls at that time.
Let me know what is possible.
Have a great time in Niarobi!
Pax,
SangomaAzania
