Help draft a business plan for fund raising

Status: Finished

The vehicle for the school will cost about 1150US. Other expenses, including administrative and fuel costs, could add up to 2500US. Your help is needed to draft a business plan for fund raising

This step can further be divided into three concrete tasks:
1)creating the outline of the fund raising plan (including what kind of information should be included in this kind of plan, for instance, background information, number of boys and girls who are in need of help, the total budget, etc)
2)drafting the fund raising plan, putting in all the necessary information
3)Making necessary revisions of the plan in order to conform to the application criteria of various kinds of charity organizations

Organizations that have experience in the research fields, or deal with underserved children in the slums have helpful knowledge and are more likely to assist our efforts. If you know of any organizations like these, please let us know here.

Hello Kristin,
I have quickly searched the web and I have found a survey, carried out in Phnom Penh in 2003 by the cambodian NationalInstitute of Statistics. It is about child domestic workers and part of it reports about slum areas.

Also Cini - Child in Need Institute - Asha carried out a similar survey, in 1992 and here is the link: http://hdrc.undp.org.in/childrenandpoverty/REFERENC/REPORTS/casha/asha.h....

I think you might as well be interested in this succesful experience of a slum where there are no more children laborers:

Hello, Kristin,
here I am again, after being away for some time.
I hope what I found was of some help.
I am a researcher and a journalist, but at the moment - and not for much longer - I'm a stay-at-home mum: my baby boy is nearly seven months!
Social science related topics are one of my specialties, and so is sustainable development and strategic planning.

Bye bye,
Emanuela

Hi there
I am a new memeber of yoour community.i worked a s ateacher for 12 years. Now I have taken a break from my job for some time. I want to utilise my time more properly by doing some social work >i am always moved by the condition of children working in slum areas,I feel that if a nation has to grow than it must take care of its children always.

Hello everyone,
Hello Emanuela. Congradulations on your baby boy! Stay at home mum is probably one of the most difficult- and noble- careers.

Hi Seema and welcome to Madurai! Where did you teach in India? I also feel that we must take care of the children for a nation to grow and reach potential. I am currently working with James, Madurai's local representative, to figure out the next project. I will be sending a newsletter to the neighbors very soon. It will have all the information you need to help out! Meanwhile, please join our discussions.

Best,
Kristin Meier

Corporates routinely write off used vehicles. May be someone in the local area can be convinced to donate used vehicle.

People of high status can actually donate their old vec hiles for community project.i also agree with chitra that corporate offices can help us in this matter

Hi everyone,

While browsing the 'net, I found the link below which has a wealth of information on how to fundraise.

Some of the information may not apply to Madurai, but it's still worth while reading (especially the links at the bottom of the page)

Hi Angelina,
Is there a particular strategy from the website you recommend? Maybe you and James could look it over together and see what ideas would work best for Madurai.

Best,
Kristin

Hi Angelina,

I had a look at the website link you provided, can you tell me a bit more about Drishtree?

Would we be able to apply for funding from them?

Thanks!
