economic background of people living in this community is poor which leads to malnutrition related diseases amongst children. For over 13 years there have been no school in this community leading to illteracy amongst children.

The area has very few educated individuals who believes that development starts with education and they came up with an idea of starting the only school in this area that covers 43 Km square to eradicate illiteracy amongest children in this community. And that is Matopeni Community School. In view of the enormous constrains facing our community are to build enough facilities and infrastructure that will support the growing population comming to this school we plan to construct enough classrooms which will inturn decongest the temporary classroom we have.The population comming to this school has tremendously increased and many others are still in the village puting pressure on other facilities that we already have ,eg 9 pupils share one text book .Many of our target groups who come to this school are unable to pay the token fees we charge them for maintanance 4 dollars per month and this forces us to rely on well- wishers and small contribution from community members .This has been very streinuors given the ecommic situation in Kenya.We support and give basic education to the HIV/AIDS affected or infected children, orphans
Poor and vulnerable in the village .Due to limited school facilities we are unable to serve all the deserving children .Unless people like you, communities, developing institutions intervene at this level these children will not live to see the future.
