NEW TASK IN MATOPENI ! HELP TO BUILD A KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL!
Dear Matopeni Team,
I hope all of you are still doing fine and healthy whererever you are. However i would like to update you on the plans we have come up with as per our Matopeni School project this year 2009.We have five major projects mentioned as Sponsorship, Kindergarten,Water,High School and Vegetable garden projects. Given the funds we would preffer starting with the Kindergarten school, Water project,High School project and vegetable garden to support the schools feeding program. The sponsorship program is being taken care of by Ildiko, the older Kids will be uploaded on the B.C..C website to see if they might get people to sponsor their education. So far building and budget plans for Kindergarten and High school projects has been drawn. We also have a quotation from a local Borehole specialist that can drill a borehole for the School to its complition. That being said we thought that Vegetable garden will be ideal to support the schools feeding program and also it will be our source of income for the School as we will be selling the veges to the local community.
For your information the local community donated a piece of land for the purpose of building Kindergarten school. Am also still negotiating with one of the goverment body to donate to us a piece of land it owns next to our School for the purpose of vegetable garden project for the school am sure that it shall be given unto us with time.
As you may see we have bigest projects plans so far and we still don't know whether we will make it or not due to the scarcity of funds to do them all.But we can do one project at a time basing on what we have received.
Have a good day and may God bless you all,
Stephen

Hi Stephen and Ildiko
For the vegetable gardening, I would recommend that you get in touch with Ken Hargesheimer http://www.nabuur.com/en/user/minifarms/profile
He has a lot of knowledge of simple, low-cost techniques which will require no (or very little) outside funding. These methods have been used successfully by other Nabuur vllages, and he is happy to advise communities that wish to learn.
Assumung you have the land, this is something that the school could start now while you are looking for funding for the construction projects.
As well as providing food and income for the school, the students will also learn skills that their families can use at home to make money for themselves.
Mary
Dear Mary,

Dear Mary,
Thank you for the link and of course Ken Hargesheimer knowledge will be of great help to us to show how the project can be beneficial to the community.
With thanks,
Stephen.
