I will check Labaid immediately.
I hope you are fine and everything is OK with Notre Dame High School. You have reached much longer than BHS and you are a great model of high school.

Hi Friends,
As mentioned by Ildiko, the B.H.S is going on well and yet we don't have Lab equipments. If we get the equipment education for needy kids will be much better than its now. Thanx Christopher for sharing with us the Labaid. We will see what their replies will be after Ildiko wrote them a letter. Congratulation Christopher for the achievements being witnessed at Notre Dame!

Dear B.H.S,
May you please get organised,
Sit and make a list of lab equipments you have at B.H.S and what you really need.
The list shuold include those besic needs and those quantities that you think are affordable or may be available,at Lanaid, affordable in terms of shipping.
Remember some items can be availed locally ie.test tube holders/racks can be made by local carpenters at a minimo cost.
At our school ,we can send you some at an affordable fees by bus to Kenya if you can afford to pay.
We have a teacher here who is capeble of making ,things like wood blocks, retort stands. If you can afford he would make them here and they can be sent by bus to Kenya.
Iam very sure things are not very easy but ,children at B.HS,should be paying affordable fees in terms of school fees, except the very poor like at Notre Dame High School, which part of the fees can be used to pay such expenses among others.
The beneficiaries, should be in position to feel the need while contributing something ,it may even be in terms of food or firewood as every coin counts.
Iam very please that your work is doing well.
I will pray for you,the helpers aand all
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Christopher

Hi Christopher,

thank you for your ideas. We have a list of laboratory equipment but it must maybe decreased a bit to the most important equipment, it will be also a step ny step process.
Most of the children at BHS are come from slum and are very poor. They can't efford any shilling for school fees but we are working on to get sponsor for the neediest children, some of them have got a sponsor already but still many of them haven't.

Thank you for your ide concerning the teacher who makes wood blocks and other things. It is really valuable to consider.

I really like your website :-) and I follow you also on fb.

Thank your for your prayers too.

Warm regards,

Dear Ildikó and friends,
Thank you for the comments, but we must insist that very very poor should not pay,but as a substitute you should include some children who can pay a minimal fees for services.Again people should give in something as a commitment for what is being done to them,it may be very small but the guadians /parents or the children will realise the services.
OR,as we are planning to do,to put in place an income generating project like a garden for creation of self sustainance.
Its true donors can be got for today and tomorrow, but after some time they will get away and the project will be no more.
As you continue planning you and us should put that into consideration.
Small fees can help in making repear and mentenance, pay water bills,etc..
Thank youhristopher

Hi Chris,
Your advises are good! Thank you for sharing them with us. Here at B.H.S AND B.C.C have considered all those ideas you have mentioned. We have a school garden of which we plant crops and veges to feed our children and sell the surplus to the community arround to earn an income. Very soon we shall have a borehole water project in place and because water is scarse here in Matopeni we will sell water from the borehole to the community to earn an income. Water from the borehole shall be used to irrigate the garden hence have crops throughout the year on our farm. Hence income throughout the year from the garden shall be realized. Matopeni being a city slum, most residents are poor though some are not all that poor. We have 2 categories of students coming to our school those who's parents can pay a token as school fees and some who are completely poor. The poorest are the once we look for sponsors to pay them school fees while we still put sustainability measures in place.

Its also important to mention that B.H.S is still very young. Only 7 month old since the official launch. We enrolled very few students most of whom are the most poorer and cannot afford paying school fees. Even though they cannot afford paying school fees, we are conviced beyong doubt that they should get quality education education. Practical studies included and that is why we seeking to find lab equipments.

Kind regards,
Stephen.

Hi again, Christopher,

Big thanks to you for your advice. I have now applied for lab.equipment to Labaid, we wait and see if we get any respons.
I am also contacting schools in Finland to find out if they could help us. We have many shipping companies here, I think the shipping shouldn't be any problem (of course it will cost but maybe I find a cheap way of transport.

I wish you a blessed weekend!
Kind regards,
Ildikó
