I am a new facilitator in Matopeni (I have started for two days ago)so I must check up -together with Stephen, the local representative - how we shall continue the work, which tasks are already finished and what is the very urgent job. It is Stephen who knows best what the village needs right now. He will give us instructions. Please follow the village's work, we will back to you very soon!
I wish you a rewarding time here in this village together with the neighbours here!

Hello Stephen,
I do hope you got my earlier messages! I am no civil engineer, or an engineer of any kind - but I have seen the most marvelous examples of creative thinking, employed in using damaged 40ft shipping containers, to provide space for human use.
There is one at Okponglo in Accra, on the way to the University of Ghana, Legon. It is a huge edifice, made from about eight 40ft containers cut up and welded together to form a magnificent one storey building!
It belongs to a company called Wild Gecko, who use it as a gallery to sell the most wonderful handicraft. I am sure that the architecure faculty's undergraduates at Kenyatta University, could, if approached, design well-ventlitated and bright classrooms, which could be built from discarded 40ft shipping containers. And they would be sturdy and long-lasting, virtually maintenance-free classrooms, which wouldn't cost the earth, Stephen!
Best wishes,
Kofi.
PS I gather I am welcome back into the fold. I have been Matopeni's prodigal son, of sorts, I guess. Thank your Ildako, for your kindness, patience and understanding!

Dear Ildiko,

Regards,
Stephen.
Stephen Okwaro, the LR for Matopeni have updated the budget for the school building. Look at the updated budget below.
Boston Self Help Group has responsibility for Boston Children Centre and also for the planned school building.
Hi everyone,
just read what you have written about the project. Very glad to see that many people are happy and willing to assist it.
I have seen the floor and building plans and although I have no experience in building and construction, I think they are both really good, simple and clear. good job Stephen!
I was however wondering if the toilets could be put behind or beside the classrooms and a bit further, as opposed to in front of them; and whether they could be fewer, maybe just 3/4. This could save on costs and space.
Anyway, great job and all the best with this and any other projects!!
regards
muthoni
