Moneygram is the best and should you get more market let me know i can bring those pictures in hundreds if we can sell them there.Again if there is anything you feel has amarket and can be found in Kenya let me know i can organize to send it.
Hi Lynley and Stephen!
How are the picture sales going? Be good to get an update!
Thinking about it, Lynley, how is the Matopeni CD coming along? Are we still at the design stage for the cover? Let me know if this is the case as my husband can easily prepare a fantastic CD cover to rival that of the shops! lol
I think we'll need to turn this into a sort of an action re: fundraising as it's a critical part. I'll mull it over over the next few days and get something moving ... watch the task space!
Hi Chrissie and Stephen,
:-( Sorry, I haven't really done much in the area of fundraising lately - I have had a few personal issues to deal with.
However, it is on my 'to do' list, and I will get onto it. Promise!!
:-) Congratulations, by the way, Chrissie on getting a new job! Hope it's better than the last one!
I hope you are doing fine. However did you manage to find out what hapened with Ikobo people that your transaction was not going through? I have writting to them time and again without replies.
Neighbours i welcome you to sign up the tasks that have not been signed so that we can move on uniformly.
Otherwise keep up the good work,
Hi, everyone! I'm sorry I've been out of touch but it was today that I realized I could exchange ideas with you on the "Meet the neighbors page".
As for Ikobo, I will try to make you a transfer later this week, Stephen, and see if it goes through, OK?
I'm still trying to get a local charity here in New York to help us, but it hasn't been easy... :-(
Chat with all of you soon!
Dear Manuel,Thanks alot for your efforts to find an a charity organization that could help in US.I do understand that its not easy but its worth trying as you doing.I think our Ikobo bank account has not expired since Jonathan signed it for one year which is to end next year 2008 and so it can be used still to send money. Its better to give it a try :-)
God bless you all,
Hi Stephen, I have no idea why they cancelled my account! And I wrote to them too but got no reply.
Strangely enough, though, they sent me an email yesterday, saying that they have upgraded the page, so perhaps I will give it a try again!
I received the same email as Lynley did, and I apologize for not being able to make the promised transfer... a lot of things came up... all good, though!
TAke care, everyone!........ Manny
I would love to join your village - and contribute to your project! I think it would make a huge difference, if Stephen could approach some of the mobile phone companies in Kenya (who make such massive profits!), to adopt Matopeni, as one of the projects they intend to fund, as part of their corporate social responsibility activities, for next year.
He should also approach the president of the Rotary Club of Nairobi - as well as that of the Lions Club of Nairobi. They usualy adopt projects, which they contribute in cash and in kind to, each year - and if Stephen does put in an application for next year, it might yield results.
I'd be happy to draft letters for Stephen, if he would like that.
Best wishes to you all!
it's good to join the project at this stage: so much work has been done and ideas have been gathered! I'll make a serious effort with the fundraising, so that hopefully the building can start soon,
Dear Jacqueline, you are very welcome in Matopeni! Now you are a real project member through your contribution here! Thank you for all your efforts you already do for the village!
Dear Kofi! I am really ashamed, because I haven't seen your contibution here before, you wrote it in the middle of September. I used to read the tasks and steps several time a week, but somehow I missed just this site. I am really sorry about it! Now I can understand your fustration. I really hope that the new village site will work better, because it is really easy to miss sites now.
You have very good ideas - again!
Both Stephen and I, we should be very greatful if you could draft letters to Lions and Rotary Clubs. As a facilitator I can also subscribe the letters and post them. Please it could be a wonderul help for us. My English is not so good.... You have a talent for language  !
Dear Stephen and Neigbours, I will be out of my country 16-22th October, I will be on a volonteer trip in Russia. But I will be back, maybe we will have the new site then.
Have a really good time and take care of you! I think the village are moving on really well.
Greetings from Ildikó
Hello Stephen and Ildiko,
Good to see you driving this project forward so effectively! Ildiko, I think you will find that I did actually write a draft for our hardworking local rep, Stephen - so you are a bit out of date, on that particular issue!
I have just been introduced to one of the members of your country's wealthy and selfish elite (so much like all Africa's ruling elites, sadly!), Stephen - and I shall wait for a decent time to pass: and then collar him to do something for his fellow humans in Matopeni!
He owns a tour company that works with one of the world's leading responsible tour companies, which is based in Australia. So keep your fingers crossed! And regards to all our caring and committed Matopeni neighbours!
Thank you for your contribution, as you can see my earlier contubition was written on 11 th October, that means, before you have written the letters to Lions and Rotary!
Otherwise thank for your efforts and for the letters, I have also got them.
Blessings from Ildikó
Hello Ildiko and Stephen,
You must forgive me - I am a bit confused: and seem to have lost track of what little contribution I have made, when it was made, and to which particular village project it was meant for!
Hopefullly I will find my bearings eventually - then I will not be so clumsy and step on the toes of those doing their best to move Matopeni forward! Best wishes to all.
I appreciate very much your submissions and your very useful ideas, I know you just want that Matopeni shall move on quicker. With you as a neighbour we shall do it. We also have Lyn, Estelle, Jacqueline and Ron with us and some other new neighbours, it is just great. I try to upload today the new budget and the new building plan Stephen sent me. I am sorry that it takes time, I have not yet learned every step on this new site. :-(
Have a nice Sunday !
Greetings from Ildikó
