Dear Ildiko
The second link ww.bostonchildrencenter.org is not working apart from that that Meghan is maintaining www.bostonchildrencentre.org We thought to bring it down becouse there was some confusion to know which was the genuine B.C.C Website.Especially from the people who were visiting the two.
Ron your suggestion is very very good actually we cannot put up the two website to run at the same time for the same Matopeni Village.Instead we can incorporate both your's and Meghan's, pages features, information etc into the 'new look' but hosted on Meghans site as you have said. Also we can work out on it's marketing as ateam.I believe that as ateam we need one website bearing all the information for our project. And it will be a tool for refference should anybody ask for more information about the project. For more information Ron on how you can access the B.C.C wesite please contact Meghan. She has all the Keys to open the website for you to add more information.
Ildiko,Leah,Ron and all other's what do you think?
I agree with you! Matopeni school must have only ONE website, we can't let run two sites. I suggest the same thing that Stephen did, we need to incorporate both Meghan's and Ron's pages. It is a very good idea.
Matopeni has been chosen as featured village from 19th February! The village has received 32 scores for the capacity of dialogue and community activities. All these thanks to you neibourghs who actively participate in our discussions.
We don't know yet what does mean to be "a featured village", but I know we will fix it together!
We also can look forward to begin to build the school, there are enough money for the foundation and also for some of the classrooms!
Two fantastic news in the seem week!
Thank for all job and enthusiasm you neighbers show for the vulnerable children in Kayole!
Keep on with the very good work and wish to could make a difference in life for many children!
it seems I have a dialogue with myself :-D on this site, but itsn't not so bad. Most of neighbours have hands full with work now. Stephen are working on building start as best, some of days will the foundation get started to build. The website is under updating.
I want just to tell you that I am on my way for a few days mini "vacation", I will visit my eldest son who live in an other part of Finland. But I will check the village news at least once a day.
Thank you Ron for GiveMeaning! Some of my friends have already recieved message, it's already possible to donate! I haven't got any message yet but I will soon, I hope!
thank you a lot for joining Matopeni! You are more and very welcome!
I saw that you are a volonteer at Education for all Trust Programme in Nairobi and you would like to help Kenyan children and youth! You are really close our project physically. Maybe you could visit Stephen and
"our" children? As you could read below the village news the building of Matopeni school has started.
Please feel free to contact Stephen or ask me if you want to know more.
Dear our newely Neighbours.WE are very happy to have you in Matopeni VIllage. As Ildiko has said, the School building was started on 21 thursday. We simply need all of you on board so that we can work as a group. However we are still working on the fundraising issue since the money that we have cannot build the whole classrooms for the School that we need.PLease should you have any source we shall be more than willing to hear from you.
May I humbly suggest that perhaps this would be the perfect time to contact both the Rotary Club and the Lions International Club, of Nairobi? Ditto the faculty of architecture, Kenyatta University - if conditions on the ground, in Nairobi, permit? Congratulations once again, to the two of you!!!
Warmest regards,
Kofi.
PS Stephen, bringing the project to the attention of Kenyatta University's faculty of architecture, could also help bring you yet more contacts, in Kenya's building industry - who might also be willing to donate in kind, to the project!
In my search for sports clubs in Kenya, I came upon a "jack pot" of information... a long list of golf clubs, jockey clubs... boat clubs( If someone can spend 100,000,000 shillings for a boat, then they can surely make a small donation to a worthy cause). :-D
There are countless of sports activities in Kenya from white water rafting to camel rides. Many of these groups have done charity events. Marathons, bike rides, races. There are also plenty of tourist agencies that promote "sports safaris". It seems that Kenya is a sportsmans paradise. Maybe I can look into that too? (guess where my next vacation will take place)
:-)
Also my Squidoo lens(blog) just got chosen to be featured on Squidoo site. That's sort of like being chosen as a featured village on Nabuur. Extra support, help in promoting it, more people seeing it and hopefully donate. Well that's about it for now, back to researching....
such wonderful news! Please feel free to contact any club you want!
Can I also vote on squidoo on your blog? I think I have been member but I haven't made an own blog, but if I can support your site and BCC that will be great!
Yes, why not a semester there? Then we can visit Stephen and the children!
