Thinking caps on at the ready! Which organisations could help with funding?

Status: Finished

********Drum Roll********

Welcome all to our newest action and the one we've all been waiting for!

So, what can you do to get involved? Simple! Put on the thinking caps, fire up your search engines, and begin the research! :-D On a serious note, we need to find organisations, worldwide, that could potentially fund / sponsor our school. At this stage, and during this action all we're going to be looking at is finding the organisations - we'll be approaching them in a future action, so don't get funding happy too soon! ;-)

Chrissie :-)

Hey Jonathan - good to see you again - haven't seen you in Matopeni for a little while!

With regards to the tax cert, i couldn't agree more! I learnt a little about this registration over in the fundraising acton in the resource village a few days ago. From what I can make up we'd need an official office over in the states and all that jazz, although I've heard from another neighbour today so watch this space - I might yet have something up my sleeve that can help Matopeni!

Chrissie :-D

Hi Chrissie,

I am sure that I could talk to Daniel or perhaps Stephen, you would like to discuss things directly with Daniel? After all you are not too far away.

Its in the process of being checked by legals right now

Cheers

You're a star as per normal! :-D

This would really help if he could point us in the right direction re: who to contact, which office, what to ask etc. I'm sure this will give us a good head start on getting the school properly registered.

Speak to you soon and thanks again!

Chrissie :-)

PS: Stephen and all - if you look on Social Talk, i have put online a possible pro-forma for our consent form - Lynley has already given some feedback. Chrissie

Hi Stephen

Just a thought, but some of the sales of the CD's etc could be used to help pay for the inital registration. What do you think? We have some time to get the funds together. :-)

Hi Chrissie,

I have just sent an email to Daniel in NE asking him for a quick plan of what Stephen needs to do to register as a NGO.

He's fast, so should get a response soon! :-)

Cheers

Hi Lynley, my little star!

Thanks ever so much to you and Daniel for helping us out - sharing information is proving to be key amongst Nabuur projects.

Stephen - looks as if we'll be able to move faster on this than we initially thought! Yayyy!

Chrissie :-)

PS: Lynley - will you be online later on at all or will be too late your end?

Hi Stephen, Chrissie, Lyn,

I am happy to be a member/ neighbour of Matopeni since its just near to Kayole/ Umoja in Nairobi Eastland.

I have contacted the Legal Officer, the one assisting me to register Nairobi Eastland support Centre as NGO. Am expecting to get from him all the requirements and the procedure of registering an NGO. On Friday I will have the information.

Stephen, keep it up Brother. My cellphone No. is 0722 857 455

Hi Daniel,

Thank you so much for helping us out with the NGO registration process - I know you're very very business with NE at the moment, so your time is most appreciated.

Stephen - what we'll do is get the neccessary docs uploaded onto the action if you like and we can all join in with helping getting the paperwork together if you want (or by email if this is better???) Are there any neighbours out there who would like to be involved in this process? Let me know either directly on this thread or by email at the usual address!

Chrissie :-D

It's great to see you here too!

Maybe matopeni and nairobi eastlands can collaborate in some ways - being in the same city!

Cheers :-D

Hi Lynley,

Yes, it's great to see Daniel here seeing as he's your LR in NE. Stephen, perhaps there is a way we can collaborate? We'll have a chat about it soon over yahoo with regards to possible opportunities.
