Assist the community to provide scholastic materials to 350 children

Due to a lack of educational opportunities for children, the community has taken it upon themselves to provide these opportunities. Current needs for the project include:
- Provision of scholastic materials i.e. books, pens, pencils, geometrical sets, school uniforms, etc.
- Provision of educational magazines talking about life skills for young children.
- Provision of school fees.
In any case, if these children are provided with such materials, the children will be able to stay in school and their academic performance will improve as they will be able to attend school regularly and as a result, the education attained by these vulnerable children will enable them to be self reliant.

mawoito is badly in need of a facilitator to kick start the project activities.
secondly, I need to inform all nabuur members that soem people from Nigeria are misusing my email and i no longer use it ie tonnymulambe@yahoo.com I now use childcare94@yahoo.com Some crooks from Nigeria squandered my pass word. Sorry for any inconveniences caused.
Tonny.
MAWOITO CHILDCARE PROJECT IS NEED OF SCHOLASTIC MATERIALS FOR THE CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY. IT NEEDS BOOKS, PENS AND PENCILS FOR CHILDREN TO ENABLE THEM ATTEND SCHOOL REGULARLY.
THANKS
TONNY
Tonny - sorry to reply here - but there is no "reply" under the "widow needing a 3 bedroom house," - it keeps coming back to this page..... My experience in Kyomya was that a 3 room house cost about $3500-4,000 USD - way too much to raise now. I have suggested building with bamboo, which is a natural resource you should have - it is free, and the labor should be provided by the village men - certainly the church men. You will find the information under your 'my village page' on the right side, 'urgent volunteer task' then select 'building materials' This will take you to a site which teaches the growth and building of houses with bamboo. I think it is the best way to go -

Ginger :)
Hi Ginger, thanks for your advise. I will try it out with the community and see how it works.
please thanks for your advises.
Tonny
Hi all, am happy to inform you that the community members have agreed to put up a mud house for the widow. This will be for two rooms ie a sitting room and a bed room. If there people who could help us with the iron sheets, this will help us a great deal.
Thanks
Tonny

This comes after the lady receiving help from one of our village friend from the USA and the community members are really touched with her help.
Thanks
Tonny
Hi Tonny, its a good thing you guys are doing for the widow but instead of a complete mud house why dont you look into rammed earth building. with proportions even of a little cement and sand in the soil, you may end up building a more permanent structure. As you have much support can you request to construct for her a pitlatrine too, an ecoloo where she can sit not squat for am assuming shes an elderly lady. It can will only take a day, if you are interested, can give you a few pointers. Just a suggestion and wish you the best.
