We have a wiki that Brian set up listing all the organizations we hope to contact. Once you have searched the internet for the various organizations, please fill out the wiki for that organization.
Project: Setting up the CTY Health Centre

Hi, Brian here. Do we still have a wiki on this village, or do we need to re-make the wiki? Let us know- thanks, Yours Brian.
Document Added / HIV-AIDS Organizations; these should be put into our wiki when started. Brian (See Document)
Document Added: Mgbala Agwa AIDS Orgs in Spreadsheet form. It is an XLR file. Brian
Dear Brian,
I clicked on "activate the Wiki", but nothing happened... Hopefully that's all I needed to do... Let me know... Last night I downloaded AT&T Yahoo Dial, so I have TWO new things to get used to... Will respond to your other email of today shortly... Hope we now have a Wiki...
All best,
Phil
(A) Since the project for this village has changed, we also might need to develop other/more organizations in our existing list. (B) We really have to define what the CTY Health Center is going to be: Building, Staff, Equipment, Incomes, Resources.... Brian
Dear Brian,
I fully agree... We need to know if we want a Youth Center or a fully-staffed Health Center... Nduka, any thoughts on this??? I would like to get the ball rolling, but we can't until some more committed volunteers show up!!! C'mon people! Mgbala Agwa needs your time and effort! And Nduka, what am I supposed to do with 5,000 copies of your new film???

Dear All,
For anyone who would like to get the ball rolling, Brian has posted his files at the following site:

Have a great day!!!

Hello,
I have found an organization (HIV Collaborative Fund through the TIDES Nethwork) that is not on your list that will be conducting its next round of funding grants shortly. I have already emailed the head office and they sent a reply advising to contact the regional coordinator for your area. They provide funding for HIV related projects that are community based, and have funded projects in Nigeria in the pase. The regional contact information is:
Kayo James Clovis, NAP+ – West Africa - jamesckayo@yahoo.fr
Another organization is the Stephen Lewis Foundation www.stephenlewisfounation.org. They provide funding for HIV programs that are community based. For questions about projects the Foundation is funding, or how to apply for funding, please contact
dirprog@stephenlewisfoundation.org
I hope this helps.
Barb Briggs
Dear Barb,
Thanks!!! I'll get on it right away! By the way, where did you find our list of organizations (I can't find it!)??? Do you know where our wiki is? Thanks again and keep posting! We need all the help we can get!!!
Sincerely,
Phil Costa FAC
Hello Everyone,
The Global Fund is currenlty accepting funding proposals for HIV related projects. The deadline is July 4, 2007 and proposals must be received in Switzerland by then. Is there a project plan/funding proposal in place that we could work with to apply. If we could get this application in, I think it would be a great move forward. Below is the address the global fund:
www.theglobalfund.org
All funding requirements and application forms are listed there. I would be willing to help work on this.
Barb
Dear Barb,
Because this project is so new, there is no project plan/funding proposal yet in place that we can work with... Carolien, a new volunteer, may be working soon to put together a project plan or funding proposal for the CTY Health Center... But I'm really impressed that you are willing to try to work up an application to the Global Fund!!! If we can do that by 7-4, that would be GREAT!!! But let's see how the situation looks with a project plan... Maybe you could find a similar one in NABUUR or on the internet...

Hello Every Body,
This is a trial period for the people of Mgbala Agwa,Our traditional ruler, chief charles Ukwu has been bed ridden since June.Doctors diagnosed Kidney and liver infection. He has been on life supporting machine for nearly 7 weeks now.Chief Ukwu has been very supportive to our programs, he has personally declared some of our workshops open and has made tremendious committment for the community development. The sickeness has thrown the community into some kind of confusion as his absence is impinging on the peace and tranquility in Mgbala.
let me appeal to any medical expert who may want to volunteer to assist,we will also appreciate any hospital that will like to threat him free as the entire community may not be able to afford the $15,000 USD being charged by the hospital presently handling his case.
kindly contact me for more information ,any help or suggestion.
THIS IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Hell Phil and Nduka,
Here are some organizations that may be worth contacting:

Barb
Dear Nduka and Barb,
I thought I'd go ahead and sign up for this task, as we are not likely to get any more volunteers anytime soon, as we are not a "featured village"... But if anybody DOES come along, I'd like them to help me contact organizations for funding for the VCCT center... Barb, thanks for the great letter and the two links you posted earlier today!!! Nduka, are you still with us??? If so, please post a note to indicate you are on board! The organizations from Brian are on http://www.esnips.com/web/MgbalaAgwa ... This is a spreadsheet... Can anyone transfer it to the wiki??? Please advise... Hope we can get the ball rolling with some real funding for Mgbala Agwa, and not just spin our wheels like with the health check... Barb, if any of the organizations on Brian's list are not suitable, please let us know! Hope to hear from you all again soon and please note that this board is open to ALL!!!
Sincerely,
Phil
Hello,
I am very sorry for not contributing to the discussion in our village since last month.I have been very very busy with community problems. We eventually lost our traditonal ruler. He died last week.
The community has also appointed me to head the burial committe.
Please work with Phil who is not new to our community.
I appreciate all your contributions and assistances.
God Bless you all.
