Help us get more reading books for the school

Little Angels school does not have enough books for the children to read.
We are asking volunteers to help us find international or Ugandan organisations/companies that could donate reading books to the school. Books must be suitable for nursery and primary age children.

Hi Sarah
For a list of organisations who may be able to send you books, go to https://docs.google.com/View?docid=dgs9fnp6_0g5zp8p3n and select the Book Donations section. The majority of them do not charge anything for shipping. You will probably find that they don't all reply to you, but I know schools on Nabuur who have had books from most of them (not all to the same school!).
If you have any problem opening the list let me know.
Mary

Hi Sarah
You need to follow the instructions on the websites. Some have application forms or instructions on their sites. With others you need to send them an email and ask. That is what the other schools did!
If you have problems accessing the sites, or are not sure what they are asking, please let me know and I will try to help.
Mary
Ok thanks mary and please i need to know what they ask

Hi Sarah
I will have a look at some of the sites and email you with direct links to application forms, contact details etc.

Hi Mary i have got some one who is willing to send th eCrayons, pencils and shapeners to the children
she is called Perez from philllipines and she is asking me the way she can send them am still looking for the way they can send am asking can they send through post office because we have box number but is it genuine .How do othe people do it to uganda
Hi Sarah
Yes, Perez can send the items to your PO Box address.
I have sent things to other people in Uganda and they have got there OK, although sometimes it has taken a few weeks.
When she sends the parcel I would suggest that she puts a note in that says that it is a donation to a school. Is the school registered as a CBO/NGO in Uganda? If so, she should include details of that too.
Mary

Ship large quantities of books (approx 20,000) in containers, can also do small box shipments. It appears you will have to pay something for small shipments, but am not sure how much so you would need to ask them.
