Moung Russey is located about 245 Kilometres North west of Phnom Penh Capital of Cambodia and 46 kilometres South east of Battambang province along national road Number 5.
The boundary of district is
North west is direct to Kaskrolor district and Sanke district
The south is direct to Bakan district Pursat provinc
The east is direct toTunle Sab Lake and Ak Phnom distric
The west is direct to Banan district
The Geography and Environment
The geography situation of Moung Russey district divided in two parts, the North and east areas are low land (wet land) that the source of fish can feed the people from Tanle Sab lake and the south and west are hill land consist of forest and mountain.

The climate situation of Moung Russey is warm and humid with a rainy season from May till October, and hot dry climate with sporadic rains in dry season.
