Help to write a standard application text that will convince donors

Do you have experience with fundraising? Or think you're a natural talent? Please help us to write a good application for funds.
What has been done so far:
With the help of Neighbours we have drafted a project proposal and a Cover letter letter to submit to donors.
What is needed now is to make this draft proposal more appropraite and attractive to Donors.
We therefore need to get more information on:
1. Backgroung and other findings / survey reports on Moung Russey which will help us detail the problem.
2. In addition to the temples in Moung Russey, we need to know about other potential tourist places in Moung Russey area?
Can you Give us details of other natural beauties in the area that can attract tourists?
3. Suggestions on what could be other potential uses of the training
centre
Also we need you to to proofread the proposal and make the neccessary changes on it

Dear Ron,
I am so happy that your proposal has made several changes for better look. I know it will attract donors and by the way, how many organizations are listed as your potential donors?
I really hope you will get positive results from this.
junjun
Greetings
I have posted here an email by carole detailing what we can do to improve on the proposal and cover letter .
I have a revised copy of the proposal by Shakya(Check at the bottom of this page)
One of the key things highlighted is to
Find out the name and address of the Executive Director or Program Officer at the funding agency . Their name and address should be at the top of your cover letter. she a dvised us to never send to whom it may concern if it is possible we should we should avoid it.
Ronald
From Carole
Here is a contribution from Carole. She has also helped with Editing the proposal. I gave her a copy of the list for pontential donors which we put up. On other note she has problems reading the proposal because it is color. it wouldbe better if we change it in Black and white. Such that it is more visible(check at the bottom in resources section for details)

Dear All friends
Wow! it's very active and proud from all of you attended with seriouse discussion on MOung Russey Community.
I'm tried to find the way that appeopiat in solving the problem met in Community. We decised to select the priority of project to apply on proposal of Moung Russey is building center and provide traing to youth.
Through the project the community will contribute the land for center and authority support the legal authorize of CYDC and some meterials relate to building procession.
I get the agreement from From Dr. Larry in writing the referemce letter to donor which interest to CYDC project, so I think that what we walk now is to ensure the quality of project proposal and clear of plan for portental donors.
I coperated with my friend here to write the CYDC financial manual and project proposal but now what we met in high risk is laptop was not work, that can not let me copy all document to post for you all. I met this problem two time so far.
The last laptop I got from Nabuur was not work because the screen not display, now this laptop I got from Dr. Larry during his first visit to Moung Russey will not run by viruses because the both computer are too old.
I would like you all raising the request to whom posible donate and sent me one used laptop for process the work here through my address. I can't do any work without computer as you all know my area is very so far from the town and difficult to acess internet.
I hope you all understand and help us with this urgent issue

maybe we can include that the 'center' (aside from being a training center) will also serve as a resource and/or information center in an effort to expand the “uses” or benefits of the center to the community. after all, trainings are made effective by complementing them with information/resources at hand.
the community or the supporting organizations can initially put in information materials on topics of interest or relevance (i.e., agriculture, culture, eco-tourism, cultural activities of the community, etc.) and eventually be expanded from various sources. these resources can be of use during trainings. and even in times when there are no trainings, the youth and other people/groups in the community can benefit from exposure or making use of the resource materials. materials or exhibits especially to promote ecotourism and agriculture can be housed at the center.
if i remember right, in one of our previous discussions, Ronald mentioned something about farmer field schools or FFS. This approach can be used by the center/people in the community to train the youth. here we can address too the need for the other members of the community to benefit from the center.
best,
lala :)
p.s. here are some sites on the basics/experiences of farmer field school---an effective learning and training method which can be explored at moung russey:

good day to everyone at moung russey and nabuur!
we can very well take the point of shakya on the center's site to be taken cared of by the community.
or at least get the support and commitment of the local government (or maybe some private owner, if possible) on providing the site where the center will be constructed. or, at best, if there is an old building that we and the whole community can improve on for a center.(?)
but again, at least a commitment for a lot/site can do well for our project.
Since our attempt is to establish an entire training centre rather than a single building, it is difficult to design and estimate the budget without having idea of the proposed site/land details. In this case, I think the community, at least should contribute the land/site for the centre. Based upon the site interested donors can design the infrastructures needed for the training centre. Therefore, we should first do the followings.
1. Identify the potential site for the establishment of the training centre.
2. Identify and request the interested donors. We should write a request letter rather than a proposal.
3. Get approval from Cambodian government if needed.
Dear Alex and all friends
Welcom to Moung Russey and greeting from harvest season in Cambodia. I'm happy in coming back to see all friends missed for long time. I would like to thank you for Alex with you idea, I hope you can find some information from Dr. Larry article wrote on one community in Cambodia. Now I'm working with key person in community on youth project. They all supported us with idea, information and some material can find here.
As you know the living condition in Cambodia is under poverty line, people in rural can not earn more then $1 dollar per day so the participant is limited. I try to make what spacific information you need from community if you give me some guide.
I would like to thank for Junjun who provided the community with value seed. The Sweet peper give the most value and tomation take more time in plant but it still better. The rice product this year is good can be reply to hard work of farmer. The crop like red corn bean, soybean are fall in low cost because the last raining destroyed the quality.
I got the up date of CYDC policy from Dr. Larry in USA and he is working on action plan of project. I hope he will send me soon
Please see in attachment
I wish all cheer in new year
The best wish

Hello Ronald,
Yes, I believe that if people feel emotionally involved in the project you will have more support.
Also, while I know nothing about local attractions and sites in Moung Russey, I am a writer and editor of a cultural magazine and if someone gives me some brief descriptions of local landmarks I will happily turn them into dynamic and engaging pieces of copy for your proposal.
on another note. These architects created a project for inner city living based on the Japanese concept of capule living. Their knownledge of making the most out of the space and resources available could prove valuable.

Hi Alex,
First i would like to welcome you to Moung Russey
Thanks fo that enlightnment . In other words we should include all stakeholders though the main focus has been on the youth.
We need more support and indeed we should get it from all the community members.
Ronald
