Disability is an issue that has been ignored in the development arena yet many people are disabled though some are not aware of it. In africa, Uganda in particular has gone a step ahead to design some policies to adress the needs of the disabled people but still there still a big gap that need to be covered. In nabitende village, EFORDE has a beneficiary who has been incorporated into the project but she needs some assistance towards her movement to the garden and meetings without necessarily being carried on a bicycle which she even doesnt own. Being a woman she has been doubly discriminated because she is both disabled and in addition to that a woman and widow as well. she crawls on the ground. There are other related problem to crawling on the ground especially when it comes to a rainy season yet she doesnt have money to buy soap and clothes for to keep changing. EFORDE take seriously issues of discrimination and wants to bring such people on board such others can be inspired. she can as well speak for others if liberated.
We are requesting friends of Nabitende to enable movements of Sarah Nabirye to be able to reach her garden and share challenges with other women in meetings as the project progresses. She is a hard working woman but she needs a wheel chair which she cant afford to buy herself. This issue has been introduced to the members and out of 220 USdollars, they have contributed 20 dollars. if 20 other friends nabitende contribute 10dollars each to this cause her problem will be cleared. Thanks so much for your generosity.

I'm new to Nabuur and have little understanding of how the organization works. In regard to the "Wheelchair" project, could I please be informed of the background of the woman concerned, (if not considered private), e.g. how the disability resulted, age of person, family situation. Assuming I wish to assist could I also please be informed of how to contribute money.
Michael
Thanks Michael for your concern about the support of a wheel chair to this lady, Sarah Nabirye. She was born lame. She was married in this home and her husband died 10years now and has not lived to enjoy life. She crawls to make movements, she digs. Her conditions are not well, I wanted to add the video so you could hear her voice but failed to load because I don't know the URL thing and how to fix it. She stays with a son who ride a bicycle for cash which is not a steady income. When I visit her, I try to get her some money for upkeep. If there is any help for her, please send by western union and pass on the password through my email for privancy; paddyemmauel@yahoo.com
Thank you very much for the concern.
Paddy
Hi Byakika,
Thank you for your reply regarding Sarah's circumstances and the method of transferring funds. I attempted to e-mail you directly but the message was returned with the note "This user doesn't have a yahoo.com account." I would very much like to help Sarah. Could we possibly continue communication through your personal e-mail address, as you suggested, when you are back on-line?
Michael
