Do a cost/benefit analysis of the tractor

Status: In progress
Step:

We need an expert to do a cost/benefit analysis of the tractor. How much does it cost to get a tractor in Naigobya? How much would it cost to keep it running? How much income must the tractor generate? How can this income be generated?

Hello to all neighbours: Kyayi, our community representative has sent me a cost benefit analysis of a tractor. I am posting it here. Teresa

Dear Neighbours,

as Theresa has posted the cost/benefit analysis for the tarctor, I guess this Task is finished and we can post our first result. What do you think Greame?

If you need help in posting the result, let me know!

Dear All

I have looked at the document which comes up with the astonishing figure of $US17861 per hectare for maize... hmm ... there is not a lot of clarity here...

Hello Ali,

It is very good to hear from you so quickly. Thank you for the manual that you have emailed to us, I have downloaded it so that I can read it this afternoon.

Do you have experience in using this manual that you can share with us?

Regards,

Graeme

Hello Graeme, Moses and other Neighbours!

I have been following the progress of your project and would like to know if I can help at all. I work at an agricultural company, Case New Holland and have some farming experience.

You have already made a great deal of progress! Please let me know if I can be of assistance. In the meantime I'll further review this manual and the current budget proposal.

Best regards,
Katherine

Dear Katherine,

I have already sent you an email regarding your agricultural knowledge but do you think that your company is in a position to help with a second-hand tractor?

Regards,

Graeme

Dear Graeme,

I'm very sorry for my delayed reply. I had to make a last minute trip for several weeks and had limited computer access. I have just now returned and read your message. I will do some research in this area and hope to get back to you in a few days.

Best regards,
Katherine

Use organic, 0-till to double your yields and reduce your labor by 50% using hand tools only. Farmers in Central America farm 10 acres using a machette [cutlass]. Tractors compact the soil, reducing yields.

As Ken says. Manual methods are much more practical in these areas of the world and to the scale that is required.

In the village of Menengai we have used some of the methods he recommends with success.

You can get in contact with Nicholas the local representative for more details if you need to at:

Let me know how you go,

Raul,

Manuel methods are growing here in the USA, also. It is the way to go on the farm using hand tools and power hand tools. Tractors are for plowing and no farmer should plow, ever!!! Farm using organic, 0-till in permanent beds.
