Update of Nkolfoulou Community School Project

We,at Nkolfoulou school will soon start.

Dear All,
I wish to let you know about recent development at our village. We presently have a temporary structure for the kids. So far 12 orphans and 15 very poor children have been identified to start classes next. We also found a local architect who has accepted to design the school plan for us. We are still waiting for him for the total cost of the building
As a representative of my community we are still looking for more help and invite you all to join Nkolfoulou and share your idea on any possible suggestion of fundraising. Our website http://Nkolfoulou.org has a short video of the roofing process including the chief of the village. You can also see the temporary structure on our website. We would like to provide books for the kids and other educative materials. We also need goodwill ambassador who can adopt this children from a distance and help support them with food, cloths and education materials. We are also in need of materials to help us build the school of those who are willing to travel to Cameroon to take part in the project.
There are a number of ways that you can help promote the growth and development of our school:
-Make a Donation which will enable the school to build new buildings and provide adequate classroom space for its pupils.
-Make a personal connection with the school: While monetary contributions are what buy bags of cement and zinc panels for the roof, this project has also strived from its inception to connect the school, its pupils and the larger Nkolfoulou community to the outside world
- Put the school in touch with a nursery or elementary school in your community: One of the things we hope to do is link Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School with either other schools or specific classrooms in some sort of pen-pal or sister school relationship.
- Donate books, lesson plans or other educational material suitable for children in the 4-13 year old age range: The community's extreme poverty makes buying quality educational material for the pupils very difficult. If you have access to relevant educational material that you could donate and send to the school, please get in touch with us
- Share this information with your friends and family: Please tell other friends and family members about this project and ask them to get involved and contribute however they can.
We sincerely thank you for being part of us. We wait for your feedback
Kind Regards,

Hi Collette,

I am happy to hear that you have started on your project with a temporary structure for the children. It is better to start something as you wait to get people to assist your village. I read about an organisation in UK that has some programmes dealing with school inter exchanges and their website is http://www.happychild.org.uk. You can check it out and see what they can offer to your school project.
However, keep up the good work.

Asuman

Hi Collette,

I am glad to hear that you have got a volunteer who is already working with the children. That is a big step forward, and I do hope that many more willing and helpful friends will find their way to your village and help out with the project.

We have also received lots of ideas and advice from the neighbours and we are very grateful that we joined the Nabuur community.
