The area surrounding Bitame Lucia Nursery School is mainly rural. Children face many difficulties in obtaining a basic education. The literacy rate in the area is very low. Despite the fact that the government created a school in Nkolfoulou, it has not provided ongoing support. The school lacks adequate infrastructure and a sufficient number of teachers. Parents often prefer to keep their children at home to work on their farms.

The focus of our project is to provide a quality education to the children of the rural Nkolfoulou. CAPEC believes that no child should be deprived of education based on their locality or family financial circumstances. 100% of CAPEC's pupils are defined as economically disadvantaged; in which case buying things like school uniforms, shoes, and school supplies can really strain the family budget. CAPEC's wish is to put up a school building and facilitate improvements that will guarantee low-cost fees for poor families, create jobs and allow the school to become self-reliant.
