Find Example Project Plans of Setting Up a School Garden

Another income-generation activity being considered by the school is establishing a school garden to support vegetable cultivation. The school grounds have a sufficient amount of land to support this and CAPEC hopes to teach the children successful farming techniques that they can then incorporate at home.

There are multiple projects working on this very thing throughout Nabuur and online. Can you help us find good examples and draw from the experience of others? If anyone has an example project plan, we would be very grateful if you would share it with us.

I can help with a school garden. I have helped several on Nabuur. the only money you need to spend is for seed. This would help the farmers in the area even more.

I would send an email with info but my computer is in the shop and will not be ready for a day or so. You use organic, no-till in permanent beds. No digging, tilling, etc. Add organic matter. I have a dvd I will mail you free if you email me a postal address. Use bucket drip irrigation during the dry season and produce vegetables when no one else has any for sale.

I think the best choice for animals in a village is goats; they do not eat human food like pigs, chickens, etc. The best fowl is muscovies. Do not need a house as will roost in trees, eat flies right out of the air, and other bugs. Need little feed. Lay 50 eggs per year.
