Increasing food shortage remains a serious concern in the Village. The situation is caused by the prolonged dry spell, poor farming method, poor variety of crops and animals. Other causes are the diseases on livestock such as foot-and-mouth disease that led to quarantine and the hike in food prices because of the limited supply and the high demand that led to acute famine and death from hunger.many families were surviving on one meal a day," the report stated.
"Because of the inflated prices, most households spent 51% of their income on food. Normally, the bulk of expenditure goes towards medical treatment and school fees."

Due to high level of backwardness and illiteracy among the community,the majority is leaving under abject poverty. Hands in service is looking at setting up a skill training center you the youth and women, this center will be teaching basic reading and writing skill since majority cannot read and write. This will help reduce the high level of illiteracy.
Technical skill for income generating activities and self reliance that will help to eradicate and break the chain of poverty among members of the community.
A children's home would help raise the children who lost their parents due to HIV and AIDS, a 20 year old insurgency in the North and North Eastern Uganda.
