Increasing food shortage remains a serious concern in the Village. The situation is caused by the prolonged dry spell, poor farming method, poor variety of crops and animals. Other causes are the diseases on livestock such as foot-and-mouth disease that led to quarantine and the hike in food prices because of the limited supply and the high demand that led to acute famine and death from hunger.many families were surviving on one meal a day," the report stated.
"Because of the inflated prices, most households spent 51% of their income on food. Normally, the bulk of expenditure goes towards medical treatment and school fees."

Kaberamaido District lies approximately between latitudes 10 33’N - 20 23’N and Longitudes 300 01’ E - 340 18’E. The district is bordered by Amolatar District to the southwest, Dokolo District to the west and northwest, Lira District to the north, Katakwi District to the north east, Soroti District to the east, and Kamuli District across Lake Kyoga to the south.The District headquarters is situated at Kaberamaido, approximately 434 kilometres (270 mi) by road, northeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.
Kaberamaido District is part of the Teso sub-region and main area of the Kumam people. In 2008, the Kumam are in the majority, totaling 99,738 (74.7%) of the population. The Iteso are the next most populous group in the district, totaling 27,317 people (20.5%). These two tribes respectively speak Kumam and Ateso languages and are of the Nilo-Hamitic group. The Langi at 4,617 people (3.5%) are the next most poulous group. The other tribal groups found in the district constitute less than 1% of the district population in individual tribal terms. These include, the Acholi, Bagwere, Bakenyi, Baruli, Mening, Basoga, Baganda and Alur.

I am the coordinator of hands in service the local organization. We make Paper beads which we use in making bags, Bangles, Necklaces, ear rings etc, African paintings, signposts, and general Art work to reduce unemployment problem, poverty, illiteracy, empowering vulnerable people and entire communities to defend their inalienable human rights, improving on the spiritual lives of vulnerable persons. we provide humanitarian assistance to the poor and needy through the funds raised from these projects. We have thousands of necklaces, paper bags, Bangles, ear rings, paintings that are ready for sale but we do not have people to buy them. Our appeal goes to every one who would like to see an orphan going to school, feeding and dressing up. A widow feeding and dressing up to buy from the numerous products we have. These product in the local market are so cheap that it cannot sustain the lives of these vulnerable people. Buy a product and save a life!
We would wish to establish the following:
-A skill training center for youth and women
-Market for our product especially necklaces and bracelets.
-Training the community on modern farming methods and provision of improved varieties of crops and animals.
A children's home to cater for the children who lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS and the 20year insurgency in the North and North-Eastern
