Project background

  • I love making constructive use of myself. When I wake up-this is really determined by the task at hand. For instance when there is an assignment to be accomplished at the shortest time possible, I wake up at wake up at 3:00am or 4:00am.

Village facts

  • Omiito is among the 8 parishes in Kapir sub county, in Kumi District,on North Eastern Uganda. Omiito is situated along Kumi-Soroti road. It borders with Lake Bisina.

  • Like the districts of Soroti, Katakwi, Amuria, Bukedia; the people from Kumi District are called \'Iteso\' and speak the local language \'Ateso\'. Some Iteso can also be found in the districts of Pallisa, Tororo and Kaberamaido.

  • Iteso traditions relate that they originated somewhere in what is now Sudan and moved south over a period of centuries. It is not possible to calculate the time of this movement.

  • Kumi District is generally flat with few undulations and isolated inselbergs in Ngora, Nyero, Kapir, Mukongoro, Bukedea and Kachumbala sub-counties.
