Use this space for general discussion about the project
We think that night schools will be more appropriate than adult literacy as it incorporates people of all age group. We want to know our neighbors views on this. We value ideas from each and every neighbor of Puthalpattu and we believe that your ideas will give this village a new direction to move forward. If you have any other appropriate name then that is also welcomed. And also please provide us with the idea to self sustain this project rather than depending on other organization.
Hello! I am very glad to greet you and to the whole community. I apologize by my english, it is very bad!
OK dear Anjana, the night schools or other modalities of study are adapted in the measure that they cover the needs of the persons. So, a group of literacy also can be efficient, though it is not a night school, always and when really there assemble (meet) young and adult people who shares needs and interests.
It is necessary that the persons, themselves, say that it is what more is convenient for them and they wish. In all the cases, the most important thing is that the educational program is really useful and significant, that the persons could see its advances and evaluate its results; also, the literacy must be functional and must have a link with the productive and social life.
Sara Elena Mendoza Ortega.
Thank you for your suggestions. As per your suggestions we will try to incorporate the decision of people of Puthalpattu as well, for that Johnson will take the initiatives and we need to discuss more about the project sustainability as well.
Your suggestions are really treasured and we hope to get them in future also and from other neighbors as well.
Yes, I agree with your point that it is not always night schools. Adult literacy has a broad meaning where many life skills could be incorporated and the local people would have a say in the whole process. Now I would like to know from our friends as how to make the project sustainable.
We need ideas to make this project sustainable. So we expect all the neighbors to provide us with different ideas to make this project sustainable and help attain people of Puthalpattu a better life.
Your ideas will be highly valued.
The UNESCO website has some useful information and toolkits available that you might find useful.
I came across this toolkit recently and thought it might help.
Thank you Jennifer for providing those links,I went through it and found interesting and I guess we can generate some ideas for Puthalpattu as well.
Thank you once again
The OSU Children's Library Fund website has two very good resources on literacy under the section "Approach". One is about Literacy Guidelines and the other Suggestions for Literacy Instructors.

I am convinced that one of the best ways to educate people
is by using a dvd player and/or a computer. The computer to use is the XO from OLPC. India is interested in buying them. They can be purchased directly. www.laptop.org I can send more info.
With the dvd player, dvds are free on many subjects.
thanx ken uncle as you told us it is very nice for all of. i would thanx to you.
