The local community has agreed on the need for a conveniently located tourism information center. For this task, we are seeking assistance in defining what types of information, materials or other items should be made available at the information center to welcome incoming visitors and help orient them to our community.

Dear
Jennifer
Thank you very much for creating a new task for www.sankhuwasabha.com project

Also- information about other nearby districts that a tourist or trekker may come upon or wish to visit- this is helpful too.
Dear Carolyn
Thank you very much for your suggestions. We will try to include the informations about the the other district too.

Some of the information to Provide should include, who you are; location; goods/services you have; the cost of these services; safety of the place; how to contact you and how visitors can reach you. The centre should also have guide maps among other things

Hi, I made a list with the above mentioned requirements and mine:
- information on what the Tourism Information Center (TIC) is
- contact details of TIC (for example business cards) to give to tourists
- Local employee/volunteer who can give information if people ask for it
- list or booklet with possible tours/excursions/activities and prices
- info leaflet of each tour/excursion/activity (and prices) for tourists to take with them
- maps of the area and/or district and/or region with the most important tourist attractions marked on it.
- Information of tourist actractions and activities in nearby districts
- Information on accommodation and transportation and prices
- Sale of tickets (entrance tickets, bus tickets)
- local arts and crafts to sell to tourists (for example: key chains that resemble a local tradition or attraction)
- post cards (with images of the region), the possibility to buy stamps and a mailbox to sent the cards.
- A small information board to write the weather forecast on (must be updated every day).
Regards,
Jenny
Tejanath- some other things to add to Jenny's list....thinking about some of the best information centres I have visited across the globe....
access to the internet (maybe one computer), coffee/tea either for free or for a small cost, a comfortable chair to sit on and read book about Nepal or the region, access to a phone.
These things are not essential for a start up info centre...but things to consider or think about for the future.
Dear Jenny and Carolyn,
Thank you very much for your very good guidelines. We will include these information in our TIC.
