We have done research on fish farming and seen it as a viable project.We hope that we shall get enough fish for our children and surplus for sale for sustainability of the school and other projects.
Most of our children do not get adequate quantities of enough proteins leave alone enough food.
As a community based organization, we are working out strategies to see that all children in our school and beyond get at least what they need to lead a normal live. We have implemented a number of small projects that have seen us come this far. Currently, we are running a green house and getting more experience on how to increase its profitability.
We are reaching out to donors/grants that will enable us put up 3 fish ponds and stock them.
We hope that this will enable GHC to grow to great heights and achieve its missions.

Grapevine Hope Centre-GHC School was started January 4, 2010. Our school motto is: KNOWLEDGE IS WEALTH. The school is managed by the Grapevine a Group of youths, a group of 10 members. The school itself is registered as a CBO with the Kenyan Ministry of Gender, Sports and Social Services. There are a total of 120 registered students, but only 105 of these students are attending classes on a regular basis. Grapevine Hope Centre -GHC School is located in Kayole North sub-location, Nijiru location of the newly created Njiru District. It is located in Sewage village, named for its location along the main sewage line.The village is also called Matopeni.It borders Spring Valley to the West, Mihango and Kware (quarry) to the East and Kayole South, to the South, in the slum area just outside of Nairobi and area which is rapidly growing.

Many children in our village are not going to school due to a variety of reasons. These reasons include: abject poverty, ignorance among some of the parents, and child labor by parents among others. There are many children of school going age idling around in our village. Despite the fact that we charge very little fees, they still cannot afford it. It is in virtue of these that we are inviting friends, well-wishers, and charitable organizations to volunteer with us. We hope that Nabuur can help link the school to organizations that can help support the development of their school so that it can in turn provide education of the highest quality to the children of their community.

Our immediate needs are: Syllabus based text books, books that the students can read and understand, and materials to build 3 toilets and Water tank. The school would also greatly benefit from a water storage facility and support for its feeding program.
We also need to put up income generating activities to enable us support the very many needy and worth pupils.
We look forward to what we can accomplish together!
