The six goats for the youths
Sat, 2009/04/25 - 20:42 —
These are the six goats that were purchased for the youths. This is one of the projects that the youths are currently running in the village, thanks to the friend of the village who donnated and all the Neighbors that have made all this possible to take place.

And polka-dotted goats!- oh my gosh - I have never seen such a thing - course I am not a farm girl and probably Ken is laughing at my comment!

Yes,I am laughing because I have never seen one; I have never even heard of one.
Ken
Well, what the heck would you call that black and round white dotted thing above???

Ginger :)
Must admit that spotty one made me smile too!
Good luck to the young people with this and the chicken keeping - its always great to see progress.
Mary
yeah, I haven't seen such a goat either :o) the others look pretty much like those we have over here in Bosnia. But ours give milk, usually 3-5 liters a day
Btw, I'm just reading an interesting article about how goats bring value to the poor families in Haiti.
http://humanitarian.worldconcern.org/2009/03/haiti-humanitarians-goats/
It says they know how to raise their goats well, and it helps them get food and pay school fees for the children.

What interesting and unique looking goats. Glad to see this is progressing so quickly and efficiently. Good job making this great idea become a reality.
Hi Neighbors,
Thanks for your compliments to the on going projects. I am also indeed delighted to have the two projects commence in the village. Thanks for your in put.
Regards,
Emmanuel
I posted this before but do not remember the village but if it was not this one, you might want to contact Salvador Cariaga, , and ask him about his goat program. He has placed over 500 goats with families with a payback system.
Tell him I lost the info. I know him personally.

Hi everybody,
Hope you had a nice week-end. I am back from Scotland, and wow, Wakitaka has been so busy. I had so much fun looking at the pictures you took, Emmanuel. The white-black goat is actually my favorite one:) Haven´t seen any so funny sheep in Scotland:)
I hope that the goats and chicks are fine and that the youths will soon see the first results of all their work. Good luck!!! If I remember well, Emmanuel told us in the chat with Sonia that the goats were old enough for breeding. Am I right, Emmanuel?
Thanks Sonia for the update of our chat, it´s great that everybody is so engaged. I´ll try to catch up with all the input you gave since last week - it´s a lot, thanks everybody.
warm regards,
Maria
