Yes, I think it is a good idea to discuss about a micro-financesystem for Walungu. But of course the main question will be: what are we going to finance ? There seems to be some kind of a projectplan for Walungu, but I keep forgetting where it is. Please, Sonja, let me know.
But if you take a look at our projectgoals (livestock fund, dairy cooperative etc.) there is a lot to be financed. In the short and the long term. Also, Guillaume, do you think that your village is willing to participate in such a system. F.e. that we, the neighbours, lend you 100 dollars a year. Would you be able to pay the interest and would the loan be payed back, in the end?
I am aware that these are difficult questions, but consider it as an attempt to brainstorm about this important subject.

Kiva has selected field partners and the program for DRC is currently paused (The partner is temporarily unable to raise funds on Kiva due to either partner or Kiva request (if per Kiva request, paused status is triggered by exceeding the acceptable Total Fundraising Ratio on Kiva, or violation of policies). http://www.kiva.org/about/aboutPartner?id=46

I talked to Guillaume, and he believes that this could be a good idea, but of course we would need first to define the detailes - for what, when, how, how much etc.
My personal opinion is that we should first start with learning farm, and while it's on we should prepare a plan/proposal for the project and there we should define (estimate) how much money will be needed for each of the stages of the project and which part we could cover. Moreover, we would define the way of lending and other details about it...
What do you guys think?
