Bhaktapur is one of the ancient cities in Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. It is located east of the capital Kathmandu, 25 km away from downtown.

Yoshinkhel is one of the backward communities of Bhaktapur Municipality. 65 families (610 people) live in this underdeveloped community. The per capita income is so low that it is hard for families to meet their daily requirements. Due to that cause, many children have no chance to go to school to study. At the same time, there is a lack of awareness amongst parents of the benefits of formal education. Some children are not able to attend classes because they do not have enough money to buy the required books, copies and other stationery. Most of the children drop out of school at an early age and join their parents in a paid job. As a result, children lack proper education and are suffering from various diseases. Bad habits such as alcoholism and use of drugs increase day by day.
