Have yourself a merry little Xmas...
...but don't forget also to think about the others whose Xmas is not as shiny and rich as yours! You can still help the children of Gamauli and Yoshinkhel by contributing a few dollars online on http://www.givemeaning.com/project/gamauli - watch that cute picture with the 110 caps already delivered to the children on http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/project/task/support-village...! Maybe you want to make a little collection also amongst your family while sitting together for Xmas?
What's new in Yoshinkhel?
These last months we have been busy with design: from the labels of the woolen products, to a wonderfully colorful catalogue and finally also starting to work on our own website!!! A big, big thanks to all the neighbours involved :)
We had started to work on a calendar as well - with the wooooooooonderful pictures Sabina took from Yoshinkhel - watch them in the Gallery: http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/images
As timing got a little tight, we decided to focus our attention to the task in the next year to have the calendars ready for the second half of 2009. If you have great ideas about the distribution, want to sell them yourself in your area, or want to give your input to the design...please let us know on http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/project/task/help-design-a-c...
We had gotten help by 2 student groups who worked on marketing and children's activities and came up with 2 very good proposals (which you can find under resources: http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/resources
And now another student group from World School makes an assignment on the requirements of a daycare centre :) Looking forward to good cooperation and also future student teams who would like to help out!
Our neighbour Andrew helped us submit a project proposal to get the Early Childhood Development Programme off the ground - especially with the requirements in terms of building now established by a professional engineer (unfortunately at a higher cost than we had thought originally).
What is most urgent now in terms of tasks is to get a training and tools together for small business development for the women so that they can manage their knitting business!!! If we want to go online with our website and sell via ebay and etsy we really need some help from those of you with a business/training background . Please check in here: http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/project/task/training-and-to...
And for those trainers out there: we're also still looking to make a CDRom for training of the tutors of the school children in our innovative education program :)
In order to check out all the interesting activities go to http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/project. We would love to hear from you!!!
Any questions or suggestions for the project: you know you can always contact Sabina and me! And we both wish you a woooooooooooonderful holiday season and a great start into 2009 - in which we hope to work together with you as successfully as in 2008.
All the best, Angelika and Sabina
PS: Please don't hesitate to forward the newsletter also to your friends and family who might be interested in supporting the women and children of Yoshinkhel!
