The knitting training was held by Sabina with great success. Do you have further ideas about what skills could be developed and how - including literacy - or what businesses could be set up? We are looking forward to your contributions!

Is it possible to set up web-based training with groups like this? I am a trainer in the area of emotional health, mental health, time management, etc. Would be happy to give time/training if it's of any use.

Dear Lisa,
Welcome in Yoshinkhel! The last time we talked about it Sabina had the concern with a rather bad internet connection. On the other hand, our neighbour Simone offered to create CDRoms with learning material, so you might be able to work together with her on setting something up for the women! Do you have any concrete suggestions for training curricula?
Looking forward to your ideas, Angelika
Just another idea for patterns - there is a large pattern index that is for free patterns at this site:
http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/index.php
there are both knitting and crocheting patterns, as well, there are patterns for crocheting using plastic bags as the source of yarn (called plarn), I am not sure if used plastic bags are a source of materials where you are, but jsut a thought.

Dear Karen,
That sonds interesting! Thanks for the idea!

Hi,
I realise this thread is pretty old, but just thought I would follow up an idea that was mentioned.
If the ladies' wanred to post recipes then I could post them on my blog (I have a large following of students interested in Eastern cookery)- This could be a way of hooking interest to promote the knitting business?
I am also involved in zine fairs in London (where writers/artists come to swap/buy home made magazines/photography/poetry). I could place an advert here and some photos of samples of the work?
Do you have a website for the products?

Hi Joanna
The Yoshinkhel Craft website is http://www.yoshinkhelcraft.com.np/ and this includes a catalogue of the items they produce. There is also a PDF catalogue attached to the latest item on the News page http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/news
Although the village is not very active on Nabuur, Sabina the Local Rep is online sometimes, and they are actively trying to market their products. So it will be great if you are able to help with that!
If you go back to the main Project Room page, you will see that the most recent activity has been under task http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/yoshinkhel/project/task/identify-potent...

Hi,
I suggest if they have industries / enterprises around, they can take the responsibility of delivering lunch/dinner to the industry staff.
They can also develop rugs, which can be exported
At the local level they can go for beautician courses, bakery courses, tailoring, data entry
Thanks.
