Help in writing business plan and funding proposal

Status: Finished

Based on the successful examples of similar child care centres in Asia, particularly Nepal we need to design a business plan for Yoshinkel community child care centre. This includes planning for the resources that this centre will need, anticipation of maintenance costs, revenues, start up costs, etc.

Strategy Sustainable community based initiatives on education, health, economic and social development efforts for development of the children, youth and women. Project Description 1. Background: Yoshikhel which is located at Bhaktapur Municipality ward no 11, Bhaktapur, Nepal. Yoshikhel community is poor with economically and socially vulnerable, backward and disadvantaged, which is located in southeastern part of Bhaktapur. The community is inhabited by 65 families and has a total population of 610 people including adult , women, young and children. The per capita income of people of the community is so low that its hard to manage their bread and butter. Hence, almost all members of the family need to go out for the work. In many cases they just leave their children at home, without proper care . The People of this community have very low income and cannot afford to pay Rs 100/ month needed for safe childcare. Parents need to go out to work for earn the but must have a safe, clean environment where they can leave their young children. Among total population of the community ……..people, only 2.5% people are literacy US$ 40/month is average income of the people that is not sufficient to manage basic require goods to total family (normal family size 6-8 person). Among ……… child, only 10 percentage of children completes Primary School. The mission of SACDS is to provide educational and development opportunities for children, youth, women, and communities in Nepal , enabling them to gain new skills to improve their lives. Hence , SACDS design the appropriate program according to the need of the people in backward community after identifying the problems . Nepali Children Project is new SACDS development program with the goal of empowerment of Nepali children through the creation and provision of role models. It uses an educational tutoring model, through which young children in secondary school become role models for children in primary school by a one-on-one mentoring relationship. The program focuses on backward communities of Nepal , where children of all ages face a high risk of dropping out of school due to poverty and discrimination between high caste and lower caste. This program supports all Nepali children in need of it. In the program, girls and boys in high school and college are trained to be role models and academic tutors to younger girls and boys in primary school. Through one-on-one tutoring, these “Didi” (Elder Sister) and “Dai” (Elder Brother) read stories and do homework and other academic activities with their younger sisters “Bahini” and younger brothers “Bhai”. All participants in this program become empowered. The Didi and Dai realize the value of their education for their empowerment through the responsibility of assisting a Bhai and Bahini in their schoolwork and serving as a role model. They receive a monthly remuneration ,which is given directly to them and which they are free to spend as they wish as well as they will get scholarship for English language and computer skills. They become leaders in their community and advocate for education. After completion of 2 years project in Yoshinkhel, it will continue for next 3 years in Yoshinkhel and expand in other locations . The highest priority of SACDS is to make child care better, safer and more affordable. That is why our balanced budget includes the most significant investment in child care and contribute to improve the education, living conditions, health and the livelihoods of the people of the Yoshikhel community. 2. Rational 1. Mothers goes out to work and need a safe place to leave their Children. 2. Provide an Environment where children’s potentials and skills are nurtured and continued Education is seen as an appropriate goal for all and to provide the opportunity for optimal growth in all areas of child development 3. To protect the Rights of the Child. 4. To provide high quality basic needs for children 5. To educate all children 6. Rate of Drop out school among children and youth are very high in this Community Yoshinkhel. 7. Children drop out school in grade 5-8 and get married in early age . This is due to different factors, many of which are directly related to discrimination between high caste and lower caste ,lack of awareness of education , illiterate of parents . In addition, youth are pulling in crime (drugs/alcohol). 8. Also due to low income of parents , children are not encouraged to continue for further education and forced in child labour. Here hardly find the students who passed grade 10 . Most of the people do not understand the important of education which results the same problem 3. Mission: To empower Nepali children by giving them the care necessary to get their rights to good education and human development. 4. Goal To improve the education, health and living conditions of children through establish childcare center and continuation of schooling, achieve better results in education and improve education of youth ages 10 to 20 in community Yoshinkhel, through the reduction of school dropout rate and poverty. 5. Project Description

1. Background:

Yoshikhel which is located at Bhaktapur Municipality ward no 11, Bhaktapur, Nepal.

2. Rational

1. Mothers goes out to work and need a safe place to leave their Children.
2. Provide an Environment where children’s potentials and skills are nurtured and continued Education is seen as an appropriate goal for all and to provide the opportunity for optimal growth in all areas of child development
3. To protect the Rights of the Child.
4. To provide high quality basic needs for children
5. To educate all children
Most of the people do not understand the important of education which results the same problem
