Identify potential buyers for the woolen products of Yoshinkhel Craft
Status:

Step:
1
We need your help to identify potential buyers for the products created by Yoshinkhel Craft. Naturally, contacts with regular institutional buyers would be most helpful. You could help by contacting your local fair trade or woolen crafts shops, or also providing emails or websites of similar shops you might know.

Our neighbour Mary already found a couple of interesting traders for the UK - maybe you also have some ideas:
"Knitwear from Nepal seems to be popular here in the UK at the moment. I have just been walking round a craft market in town and seen several companies selling it. It was very busy, no no time to stop and talk to any of the stallholders to see if they were looking for more suppliers but found websites for some of them if you want to check them out.

I am not sure if you are registered as a fair trade supplier or not? That could affect who will buy from you."
Has anyone looked into SERRV yet? www.serrv.org
Hi,
I have been looking online for companies that sell wool products. One site I have found is http://www.globaltextiles.com/Search/Buy/10/Wool.
Have you registered on ebay to sell your items directly to people?
I will also put your website on my facebook profile.

They sell a lot of the same products that are in your catalogue.
They are also involved with the Monsoon Trust which looks very good. They are a charity so it may be worthwhile seeing if they will sell your wool products through their charity. They state on their website www.monsoontrust.org the following:-
"The Monsoon Accessorize Trust is all about putting our Ethics into Action. Founded in 1994, the Trust helps disadvantaged women and children in Asia through education, healthcare and income generation projects. Today, we are funding over ten projects benefiting some 10,000 women and children every year.

Hello,
Thanks for these contacts, I have sent inquiries to all of them. I already have contacted a lot of societies. Some of them answered saying they are interested in Yoshinkhel Craft products and social aim, but no one seem to be ready to order.
Every advice that could help to find buyers is still welcome !
Marine
That's great Marine. Hopefully they will order.

I'm quite new to nabuur.com, and the concept of online volunteering, so I hope my ideas are okay.
Anyway, I remembered that Oxfam often sells goods including knitware at their free trade stores. I have emailed the Australian branch of Oxfam to see if they would be a potential buyer.
I have also emailed a smaller clothing store (Tree of Life) in Australia to see if they also might be interested in selling the knitware.
Thanks for being so proactive Giselle! And welcome to Nabuur and especially Yoshinkhel:)
Thanks Carolyn. :) Unfortunately, I haven't had any positive responses yet. I'm trying to find smaller organisations/stores within Australia that may be interested. I will keep looking! :)
I searched the Australian net directory www.ecodirectory.com.au, as it lists stores that sell/promote fair trade goods.
I sent emails to about eight of the stores listed as supplying fair trade clothes.
Also, is the knitware organic? I looked on the Yoshinkhel website but couldn't find the answer. There seems to be a big demand at the moment for fair trade and organic.
The businesses/organisations that I contacted are:
Dear Giselle,
Tks for contacting potential buyers.
For your information, at the moment , yoshinkhel craft is using 100% wool (natural sheep wool) which is imported from New Zealand and yak wool from Tibet. Then swiss dye or chemical dye in Nepal. It is not organic. But Yoshinkhel Craft is flexible in using materials as per buyers requirements.
Best regards
Sabina
