I think that with very concrete donations - like people could just buy a ton of sand, or a number or windows, etc. -people would be very happy to support the project during such an event. The current list of what is needed can be found in the Construction Bugdget (under Resources), but it still needs to be verified with the new building design.

In addition the entrance fees or some prize draws could be used for the labour part of the budget...

Do let me know what are the requirements for your fundraising events, i have an expertise in event management and i have done events with UNAIDS and UNODC in past at larger scale. I think being in India it would nice to make a plan for events for Nepal. Let me know, I rarely come online on nabuur so it would be better if you can send msg or email on my id its anand.koti@gmail.com

Talking with the neighbours who already expressed interest in helping out on organising an event it came to my mind to emphasise:

Of course it would be wonderful also if we had several fundraising events - so if YOU want to organise something in YOUR sourroundings: look at the ideas of our neighbours and do so! It doesn't even need to be big!

We also need money to really get the production of the woollen products started - Sabina has trouble with securing the wool so the orders can be met since the last payments have not been fully received and she of course also wanted to pay the women for their work...

Or you think it would be wonderful to organise something for the tutoring programme: people can support one or two tutors for a year for not much money :-)

i think its a great idea to organize events to raise funds...Nepali New Year is approaching. So we can get together with one of the party houses and ask them to give a certain share of their profits to the Yosinkhel community. If we could persuade them well,i dont think that it would be a problem at all.Well,do let me know if there is anything that should be done by me...

Anand offered also to share his ideas and experiences on fundraising events in case someone would be able to organise an event :) Maybe you can get in touch with Sabina on the phone - might be easiest - and discuss your ideas with her and write back on the Nabuur website so other neighbours can also add their advise.

Meanwhile what I am thinking , we can fundraise not more but something by selling some ladies caps which are in fashion now a days to our school, college freinds for this winter season. We will fix the reasonable price for this caps(cheaper than market price).In the market the price for cap is RS 250 , we will sell in Rs 150 . I hope this will also help to raise some fund.
Is it possible to sell around your friends too?

I received Rupees 1700 from Neighbour Andrew Blake. U.K.
I used this money to buy 4 kg of wool.
Andrew has also informed me that he will be visiting Yoshinkhel next Febrary 08 also.
