Find ways to use the existing land in order to generate revenues

There is land that can be used for income generation projects. Help the local community brainstorm the potential for this land.

Hello Pastor Fred,

Thank you for guiding me. I surfed through all sections on Zabef on nabuur and the details of the land do not appear under any section. The sites www.gidcco.co.uk and www.gidcco.org do not open. On zooming in to the google map which indicates Zabef, the location of the arrow is on Bell Avenue, which does not not seem to be an agricultural area. Perhaps this is the location of the office and not the land which is being discussed in this thread.

The neighbours may be able to provide suggestions for generating income other than through agriculture, if they get a clear picture about this land as suggested in my previous message on this thread.

With regards

Vijai

Vijai,
Here is the correct info on the web site: www.gidcco.co.nr

Pastor Fred,
Sometimes you sign your name with this website and sometimes with the .uk but the only one I can see works is the .nr site listed above.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for posting the correct website address. This site opened, and I was able to find the following on the 'Programs' page on this site :

Quote
Pastor Fred Mwanje and the team at GIDCCO are praying to buy a 4 acre parcel of land. On this land will be a new Church, resource center, orphanage and school.

Hi Pastor Fred,
In case your posts in this thread refer to the above quoted land, it would be possible to assess the potential to generate income from this land based on further information about the precise location of this land. It is possible to generate revenue through other means in addition to agriculture, as I mentioned in my posts above. Depending on the location, the land could be used for other purposes like commercial, or institutional, etc. In such cases the quantum of revenue would be in a different dimension as compared to the revenue from agriculture. A basic clarification on this aspect might help at this stage, since posts from neighbours in this thread are all based on the presumption that this land is for agricultural use.

Hi Pastor Fred,

I would like to know whether there has been any plan for the income generation from the Land. Is there a plan to use this for agriculture? or do you plan to rent it out for other activities?

Thank you,

Did you receive them? They are not that important. What is needed is for someone in the village to began using organic, no-till farming. Use the seed of the crops you have. You do not need any money for this. I can email you how to do it by making one bed so all the farmers can see that it works. It will double the yields and reduce the labor at least 50%.

Dear Ken,

Thank you for all the DVD’s you sent me. Thank you for all the info. I am applying it in my own vegetable patch. It is working. Got half a pocket of potatoes off a square metre. So would imagine about 10 pounds per square yard. This off previously dead low, carbon soil. Sure next crop will be better. Got yams coming up on same spot already. Want to plant herbs and spices. I will send photos.

Your advise is so simple. People do not believe me when I tell them. I am so excited about growing things now. This coming from a commercial plum farmer. May you be blessed this holy season a thousand times more than you blessed me with you help.Jeremy Karsen, middagkrans@mwebbiz.co.za

Project room: Kyomya, Uganda
We have been working on improving farming techniques for almost a year. Unfortunately, the farmers are planting small plots of land that only feed their family. There is no other choice but to try new techniques to improve the output of their plot. Ken Hargesheimer suggested the "no till" farming techniques as well as the "drip system". Both have proven effective at increasing production by at least 5 fold. The time is now for Kyomya to become a model agricultural village. [nabuur.com]
