How NABUUR.com works
1. Local people come to NABUUR Read more
The local community and its representative get an assessment
It all starts with a local community in a developing country
(Africa, Asia, Latin-America) looking for new solutions. They find
the NABUUR platform through word of mouth or come across
www.nabuur.com while searching the web.
NABUUR Staff assesses the local communities, to ensure that
- the local community and their Local Representative are reliable
- the project contributes to the sustainable development of the community
- the local representative has the required Internet access (often at Internet cafes)
This way of working ensures that you know, as a Neigbour, you are putting your energy in something you can trust and which works.
The projects and the tasks for the Neighbours are formulated
An important part of the assessment is the evaluation, to determine
if the project agenda of the local community is feasible through
NABUUR. Local communities come up with their ideas and NABUUR
verifies if this is something which could be done by Neighbours
and which steps should be taken.
The NABUUR Staff can come up with suggestions, but the initiative
and the goal of the project is always in the hands of the local
communities themselves.
The local community gets a Village on the NABUUR website
In this Village the representative of the local community (Local Representative) describes the local situation in words, pictures & films. He or she describes what will happen if nothing is done and formulates the Project and the Steps. Finally the concrete Tasks for the Neighbours are presented. On the website you can always see and read what the status is and the results of your activities are visible as well.

My experience as a Neighbour
When you move up in this world, you should take others up along the way'. I see joining NABUUR.com as a good start to bring this principle into practice.
